Friend ! It was an impulsive purchase. I read their ads on Straits Times and tot of seeing some products but ended up installing Amp, comp speakers etc. Went back one week later for the subwoofer as recommended by the mechanic. Maybe you can enlighten us if you had any bad experience with them.

Btw, what is the price of 9450?

not me...but my friend, well lets just say their handicraft just isnt good enuff..and their selling price...is...err...abit on the high side. If you were to go outside shops...anytime you can try to slash price with the boss..but autobacs? [shakehead]

err....as Mr Koolaba just quoted...9450 would cost >1k [:)]

well, I agree with you that their handicraft is lousy but some of them are quite friendly and helpful. Price wise, maybe higher but I am not familiar with market rate. Went back for subwoofer bcoz I was given vouchers for 1st purchase. Thanks for your contribution.

Alpine,

Drop me a PM for lobangs on new ICE items. I'm sure u'll be flabbergasted by the obscene amt of profit Autobaccs earn. [rifle]

Just read their ads on HUs a week back. Installation cost is $10. But the profit margin is v high considering they're selling the lower end Pioneer, Sony HUs.

9450 is more high end...a few models below the Pioneer P9.

I've not heard of Pioneer 7450. I've owned a made in Japan Pioneer HU before...good stuff [thumbsup] But I can't say the same for the newer generations of Pioneer. Most of them are made in countries except Japan, for the lower and mid range models.

wow [thumbsup] ....did u import them in? or u flew all the way there to get it?

and those being made in japan is really better than those made outside japan?

No, I owned a 7050, bought in 99. I think tt was the last batch of 7xxx,8xxx series of Pioneer HU made in Japan. The 4050 and lesser models were made in Malaysia.

I think e current 8450MP is made in Thailand.

Well, I paid total $1445 for Alpine V12 4ch amp, 5" Alpine comp speakers (front), Sony Xplod rear speakers, tweeters, labour, 2 ch amp (for subwoofer) and a 10" American bass subwoofer. What do you think? Too expensive? [mad]

For this amt, u could have gotten a better setup. IMO, Sony's run-of-the miil ICE eqpt CMI. Why did u upgrade your rear spkrs? They play secondary role in improvement of ICE SQ.

recommended by the sales person. I tot since changing the front, why not the rear as well. But it is not cheap, they cost me around 150 bucks. Anyway, I have learned something now. So must be smarter for HU.

That's their sales tactic. They recommend u to get everything even tho it's not needed. Anyway, those Sony speakers should cost less than $150. A pair of CDT 6.5" Cambria co-ax costs ard $90.

Let me know if u need further help [;)]
