i dun think it's worth la.. i'm not sure about the rebate thing.. but since ur working hours are from 7pm-7am, den how u supposed to reach ur work place in time? as weekdays u can only start driving after 7pm. so ur work start at 7pm. and the OPC time is also 7pm. [:|] so for that 2 weeks u can't drive.

on weekdays, 7pm - 7am

Sat, 3pm onwards

sun, whole day till monday morning 7am.

what ever u pay to the govern, u cannto get back in cash, that includes COE, u get a paper that rebates your next COE for new car......

what i heard is that every year after u convert, your OMV increase by 2k, something like that, not very sure. Only sure u cannot get cash back

Besides OMV, will there be any rebate on the COE of the current car?

What is the rate for the COE rebate?

You would not be getting cash back for converting to OPC. Instead you will get additional $2.2K in PARF value for each year your car is wearing red registration plate. Of course on top of that, you will get road tax rebate of up to $800/yr, subject to a min. of $50.

Timing for OPC use:

Mon - Fri: 7pm - 7am

Sat: 3pm onwards

Sun & PH: Full day

No extra COE rebate will be given for conversion of normal car to OPC. In fact for new car, the $17K may be use to offset vehicle taxes and/or COE.

If one is driving a COE car and decides to convert it to an OPC.

What benefits can he get? What is the road-tax rebate like?

1. OPC timings.

Can use during:

Weekdays: 7pm - 7am

Saturdays: from 3pm onwards

Sundays: whole day

Public Holidays: Whole day

Eve of Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya Puasa: 3pm onwards.

2.Coversion to OPC

You do not get cash back but rather, a pro-rated value 'credited' to your PARF value (or something like that). You will enjoy discounted yearly road tax.

If I buy a new OPC car, I get $17k rebate. If I buy a new normal car and convert it to OPC immediately, in ten years time I get an additional PARF of $22k ($2,200 x 10) instead. How come?
