I drive a MT Optra stationwagon, 3rd batch. Performance mod only one spark plug cable, stock, fc is 11.6 to 12km/l, average shift 3k rpm, avg travel 90km/hr, 50% city 50% highway, Eunos, ubi, town, woodland, mix CTE, PIE at peak hours. Avg Aircon at level 2, never drive with open window. Best recorded turkey tank travel 660 km, light not up. R15 rim 195/55 Dunlop tyre. Fuel SHell 98. For reference.

Car drives well, brakes well and move along well.

Mine front has 2 Big OEM fan, retrofit by SA as part of the exercise to counter heat problem which some cars had, have you had yours ? Maybe that will help out if you encounter heating problem.

Turbocharged

Genie47, you have very strong technical knowledge on cars and your comments are generally non bias.

I don't agree the engine of Optra is hotter than other Jap's cars I have driven. Just last Saturday, I am trapped in the JB causeway for 2-1/2 under the hot sun, the temp still didn't move a centimeter.

HOWEVER, it is true the aircon insulation in the engine compartment is bad for Optra and could be improved.

This forum is meaningful when people share their experience and we learn. Baseless accusations is counter productive.
