Question about Equalisers and Pre-amps

I've decided get a Pre-amp/Equaliser to add on to my car.

I need it because I want to add an "aux-in" to play MP3s using an external MP3 player.

(Seems like a good enough reason to get one )

 

Any recommendations on a brand/model that is not too expensive (read cheap) and has multiple functions... (sub control, gain, ...)

 

And any place in particular where I can get this done...
