See_eff Clutched December 18, 2005 Share December 18, 2005 Am considering between the 2.0L 6 SP, Legacy and Accord JDM. Can anyone comment on the relative merits of the new 6 SP? And how is Mazda's service? Is there a main agent here? ↡ Advertisement

W2K_83 1st Gear December 21, 2005 Share December 21, 2005 The main agent, I guess u should be refering to Mazda Motor? www.mazdaclubsg.org has got a section catering to complaints on Mazda cars and services, its actually a complaints folder whereby the Marketing Manager Philip Lu will read and refer to MM if possible. So u can find out what are some of the problems that Mazda car owners face.

See_eff Clutched December 25, 2005 Author Share December 25, 2005 "..---Isn't that the WORST car rated in terms of safety?---.." No. Anyone with comments on fuel consumption of the new 6 with VVT engine comapre to the previous 6?
Arkaneslayer Neutral Newbie December 25, 2005 Share December 25, 2005 yes - it's supposed to be one of the more "unsafe" cars according to FOrbes Auto ...
Subarufan Neutral Newbie December 25, 2005 Share December 25, 2005 (edited) Am considering between the 2.0L 6 SP, Legacy and Accord JDM. Can anyone comment on the relative merits of the new 6 SP? And how is Mazda's service? Is there a main agent here? I prefer Legacy. Its AWD and Boxer makes it a class ahead. The rest just another car. Just my opinion. I am looking for these car also. Till now, Legacy tops my rank. Edited December 25, 2005 by Subarufan
See_eff Clutched December 26, 2005 Author Share December 26, 2005 Was told that the AWD makes the Subaru more expensive to tow ...i.e. must use a flat bed tow. Or am I wrong here? And the boxer is NOT fuel efficient nor easy to service...again am I wrong?
Wolverine Neutral Newbie December 26, 2005 Share December 26, 2005 Yup ...Safety sucks ...and frankly i cant tell the diff btwn a Mazda 6 and Mazda 3 ...all look = MAZDA DA
Subarufan Neutral Newbie December 26, 2005 Share December 26, 2005 You are right about these. Although I had not encountered problems with my ride, but it is logical that a flatbed shall be used since it is AWD. As for fuel consumption, my is about 10km/l. Guess not too disappointing if you don't compare to Japanese family. I guess nothing is free. We gain something, we lose some.
Brownboy Neutral Newbie December 27, 2005 Share December 27, 2005 I tested the Legacy R some months back and thought that while the engine was responsive, the ride was not as comfortable as the JDM Accord. You may wanna check out on this issue in another thread. Decided against Legacy R because the price was higher than JDM Accord, yet it's OMV was lower => higher depreciation. See_eff Clutched December 27, 2005 Author Share December 27, 2005 yes - it's supposed to be one of the more "unsafe" cars according to FOrbes Auto ... Since when has Forbes started "rating" cars ......maybe you want to check out this: http://www.safercar.gov/ Same site as the NHTSA site, and the ratings for the 2006 Mazda6 is actually quite good - comparable to a Honda Accord, 5 stars for frontal and rollover and 3 stars for side. Maybe after checking out the above site, someone can explain the "unsafe" rating of "Forbes Auto". BTW the Volvo S40 got only 4 stars in the frontal and rollover tests for driver ... See_eff Clutched December 27, 2005 Author Share December 27, 2005 ".... Yup ...Safety sucks ...and frankly i cant tell the diff btwn a Mazda 6 and Mazda 3 ...all look = MAZDA DA ..." Would be interesting for you to really check out the ratings instead of the above comments ...compare what you think as "safe" cars e.g. maybe the Volvo s60, 2005 BMW 3 series (YOU might be shocked - there is actually a SAFETY CONCERN warning against it ....) The hi-fi system is superb!
