Normal_aspirated Clutched January 2, 2006 Share January 2, 2006 (edited) no, i didn't mind the repairs.......anyway italian rides liked to be pampered. Any slight "flu" u hv to send it to the "doc" (workshop). The performance and comfort can never be found in Japs or Koreans. Like my present japs ride, the performance is inconsistant, the throttle response is not there when u want it. After many flooring of accelrator pedal, then the power returns. Imagine the fear u hv, juz tonight on the way home at a traffic light. After seeing the coast is clear, i turn but to my surprise a motorbike suddenly flash his headlights. To avoid collision i hv to whack my pedal but to my shock the acceleration is not there. I realise i hv been LRF all the while. But italian rides are not like tat. Wolverine Neutral Newbie January 2, 2006 Share January 2, 2006 According to the IIHS, the Hyundai Elantra, Nissan Sentra, Kia Optima, Suzuki Forenza, Mazda6 and Toyota Corolla are the six most unsafe cars for sale in the US for 2006
Remygenn Neutral Newbie January 2, 2006 Share January 2, 2006 TC-ed is too expensive for me. Anyway, I am not the chiong person, so a comfortable car suits me better. Hee... I really in love with the Legacy. Going for the Legacy R
Fortress Clutched January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 (edited) Yep...seen in many reviews that Mazda 6 is very unsafe...plus not too good handling ...dunno if it's true Never own or will never do, a Japanese car(out of 22 of them), admire the marketeers for the ability to sell such unsafe cars, or, we Singaporean are not informed, or safety is never an issue and it will never happen to me(looking at previous threads on this). Fortress Clutched January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 I guess involving in accidents and safety are 2 different issues on make and safety of a car... With regards to your point on reviews, somehow I do not think so that non-European cars are penalised, they a tested based on a certain safety standard, you might like to read a little bit more on the website. Anyway, do you know that Hyundai Sonata(a Korean car) is the most efficient car in it class...or shoud we drop that because it is a preferential comments... Cheers and a Happy New Year. Fortress Clutched January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 Thanks, read it before....Wondering are you trying to tell me something. It is the head or upper body injuries that is worrying on the Madza 6... A happy new year to you.
Normal_aspirated Clutched January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 u mean Mazda6 Sp & the Mazda6 MPS..........they are both having the same chassis but the MPS have more enchancement to the chassis so increasing its kerb weight.....juz like my protege (200kg heavier than the 323 face-lift & prefacelift ones.) The protege sport version, add another 30kg for the full bodykits & rims.
Fortress Clutched January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 I might be wrong, but was told from a friend in the car industries that they are, it is the head injuries that is a concern.
Orablue 1st Gear January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 American and Australian have very different opinions... The Australian Wheels magazine rate the Mazda6 as one of the top vehicle for accident avoidance. So, if you see a Mazda6 zigzagging on the road, they are trying to siam left, siam right, siam up, siam down... http://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/portal/alia...topDefault.aspx anyway, most Japanese cars in Singapore don't have side airbags... so the ENCAP results don't count. yes - it's supposed to be one of the more "unsafe" cars according to FOrbes Auto ... I am 36...driving a wrx..i dont hack care how others view me..bottomline, I paid. Prior to own the wrx, I was driving a mazda 323...My comment on mazda is the car handling/road holding is really good but the engine very weak, if you are performance sensitive..this is not a car for you. Yaloryalor 5th Gear January 8, 2006 Share January 8, 2006 Hi All, I went to the Mazda show room last week. Saw the new facelift Mazda SP. The interior and exterior really nice and sporty. I did not test drive so dunno how is the performance. Any bro can advice me the FC and performance of this car? I used to drive the old Astina ( head lamp hidden type) but that car has no power and FC is also not good. I do not have much confident on the Mazda engine, dunno how about this Mazda 6 engine? It is now a 5 speed auto engine. Looking at the exterior and interior I think the price tag is very worth buying. The new Civic 1.8 is another choice I will consider. Not yet test drive but I used to drove Civic esi. and think Vtec engine would be more powerful and reliable. Both car is about the same price. Currently I am driving the Mit Lancer; look is good but the FC is very low and the engine cannot make it. Bought at 81K during mid 2003 , now looking at the new car price so itchy liao. But hope my next car can last longer before I feel sian. Actually, was considering the Accord from PI but the interior space seems to be small ( same as my lancer?) . Any good advice? Appreciate! Yaloryalor 5th Gear January 8, 2006 Share January 8, 2006 Thanks Bro for your fast reply! If I sell my current lancer in the next few month, I will break even or take back 2 to 3 K cos I down quite a bit when I buy it.
