Can PCD be changed?

Hi there,

1. My ES5 is PCD 100. Can the PCD bearing be changed? In layman term, change the wheel 4 nuts to 5 nuts. By the way, is 5 nuts better than 4 nuts in term of stability and choice of rims?

2. I have this idea when I need to replace the screws of the bearing. If bearing can be taken out, I suppose we can change it.

Any ideas.

Thanks.

Sound like a big operation? I thought just change the bearing pad will do? Your answer bring me a concern whether the speedometer will be miss aligned when changed to 5 lugs?

Neutral Newbie

It is possible and done before as I changed the pcd from my del sol from 4x100 to 5x114.3.

Does not cost a lot, just need a few expert to do them.

2 options. change the hub or get a 4 stud to 5 stud bolt on spacer. I would go for the former and this can be done when changing the bearings as the hub has to come out (at least for the fronts [laugh] )

and you are right. more options for wheels in 5 stud fitment (esp the 5x114.3)
