For those, like me, who love the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione concept this is great news:

The Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione concept sportscar is destined for a 500-unit build run, with the production-ready car scheduled to appear at the Paris Motor Show in September reports respected motoring website 4Car, quoting comments attributed to Alfa Romeo CEO Antonio Baravalle made in Geneva last week.

'It is my dream to do it,' said Alfa's recently-arrived CEO, Antonio Baravalle. 'We have cut the budget for our advertising campaign and will do the 8C instead, because it is a perfect way to promote the Alfa brand. Sergio Marchionne says if the figures add up, do it.' The plan is to have a production-standard 8C ready for the Paris show at the end of September, and to take orders for a 500-car production run then.It will be a coup

Turbocharged

Ya know Brother Spas, I always love KooPays, Cabrios and Roadsters... That Alfa is one hell of a beauty but I have to add that it does bear a striking resemblance to the Aston Martin DB9 which in turn looks kinda like the 350Z which in turns look kinda like the Audi TT???!!! [rolleyes][cool]

Most will likely be lefthand drive versions & end up in the USA/Japan/UK.... in the USA probably sold by Maserati dealers. [rolleyes][;)]

I've seen one in the flesh before.

And i personally think it looks like nothing else but itself.

It's gorgeous. Doubt any singaporean would own one though. Have a feeling they might only build LHD versions. Think 500 units is too few to make RHD ones too.

When they first mooted the idea of a limited 1,000 units.... the price floated was EUR 100k sweatdrop.gif

With all our import taxes.... it is going to cost something like the SL500 here... only the really rich will be able to afford this. Upside is exclusivity... downside is I wonder when I can own one bigcry.gif

exclusivity is good but alfa was meant to be a car for the masses so it should be mass produced.. and it will be a best seller based on looks alone
