Fabiaman 1st Gear April 23, 2002 Share April 23, 2002 Hi all who are keen to know which tyre shop in JB did myself and NILKZ went to which we feel deserves to get a recommendation here. The srevice was pretty good and they guys there aint too pushy. Nilkz's field report can be found here : http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=12286 Honestly, we are unaware of other tyre shop services but I think both of us are so happy with it, we will almost certainly return to that place the next time we get there for rotation or alignment. The shop's name is PUSAT SERVIS & TAYAR SENTOSA. I have attached the map here. The location of that shop is the block shaded RED and the route to there from THE STORE in SENTOSA is the red lines. The map is presuming you know the way to The Store in Sentosa. Basically, go straight in on the big main road opoosite direction to THE STORE. You will drive past a long stretch of shop houses. You will reach the end of the road which only allows you to turn left. At there, do a left turn and within the next 200m, do a right at the end of the stretch. This right is unmistakable as the slope is quite steep down when you do the right turn. After turning right, go straight and make a right turn again at the main junction. This main junction is a T junction to go either left or right. Turn right and immediately at the first available U-turn, make a U turn and immediately keep left and turn left at the first lane in. There, you will see a BIG BIG sign that says Ah Kun Fishball. A lot of Singaporeans think that place serves good"sai tor" fish fishballs... but I disagree. Anyway, turn into the small lane beside Ah Kun Fishball and drive past Ah Kun. You will see a BIG BIG Bridgestone sign at the end of the small lan. That is the shop we are refering to. If you are lost trying to reach there, just look for The Store in Sentosa and follow the instructions I have given here, you shld get there very easily. Hope this helps. untitled2.bmp ↡ Advertisement

Turbobrick Neutral Newbie April 24, 2002 Share April 24, 2002 It's much deeper than the map shows, almost reaching the bridge to Permas Jaya. After the store it'll be probably another 2km before reaching the left turn.

Emkay 1st Gear April 24, 2002 Share April 24, 2002 Hi, to make thing easier, you can drive along the main road (Jalan Tebrau) that from come from Singapore toward sentosa. Intead of turning right into Sentosa, you turn right 2 junction before (i.e. the T-junction just after Plaza Pelangi and name Jalan Serampang) .. drive straight down and you'll pass Leisure mall on your right and at the end of Jalan Serampang you turn left at the T-junction and drive straight u'll see Ah Khoon fish ball on your left. Newtonapple Neutral Newbie April 24, 2002 Share April 24, 2002 Hi Fabiaman Thanks for sharing the location where one can get the wheels aligned. How much do they charge? But seriously, as long as the vehicle does not hit the kerb, or hit a pothole or when thru some form of accident that may affect the wheel alignment, all one need to do (on a periodic basis - say 20K km or 1 yr ) when you do your tyre rotation, is to have the tyre mechanic (if they have a sideslip machine) to measure the amount of sideslip, so that the tyre mechanic (with a simple tool of a spanner) to adjust the tie-rod bolt to correct the sideslip error. That would do, it also means you save on wheel alignment. All that computerised wheel alignment would go to waste if all your vehicle needs is just a sideslip adjustment, which incidentally applies to most vehicle owners, unless one had a bad experience of hitting a pothole at some speed etc. newtonapple
