Saab 9-3 SS fuelling problems

Fitted a panel KnN air filter into the 9-3 sports sedan. Initially, no problems were noted and the car ran smoothly and pulls more strongly. However, after a day, the car suddenly started drinking petrol at twice the normal rate. Abt 20litres/100km travelled. Eventually, my full fuel tank went empty within a day.

This is really weird. Could the ECU be sending a signal to increase the fuel needs for the car since the aftermarket air filter allows for more air flow? If it is, how come the ECU cannot adjust accordingly?

Please advise.

One more thing. Need insights from the saab 9-3 SS bros. Does the fuel guage take an eternity to show the car's fuel level once you pumped your petrol to a full tank from empty?

It seems like it takes almost 15 mins before the needle reaches the full tank mark. I thought the pump attendent did not fill up my tank.

What are your views on this? Normal?

Wow! That's only 5km/l u are getting! [sweatdrop] Have u tried putting the stock filter back? Dun think it's the K&N unless you're flooring the pedal every second.

Yeah, just sent it back to trans eurokars. Strange problem. Hope they can fix the problem. I don't floor the pedal all the time, just normal driving.

I think your problem is due to the fuel pump....thumbsup.gif
