Mel4fun Neutral Newbie February 25, 2003 Share February 25, 2003 OK....you are spot on Just check with a Faby owner, the 1.4L 8V is rated @ 68bhp only. So that means those on the Leon 1.4 16V are DOHC 100bhp unit ?? Test drove before but felt less torquey compared to the 8V, but love the smoothness and quietness of the unit. ↡ Advertisement
Seansene 1st Gear February 25, 2003 Author Share February 25, 2003 (edited) The new Polo is one cute car, do you have any articles on it? On print or on the net? Have a look at this review: http://irishcar.com/vwnewpolorvbb.htm And the Aussie VW website: http://www.volkswagen.com.au/ Oh, also check out Whatcar online: http://www.whatcar.com/default.asp Edited February 25, 2003 by Seansene
Seansene 1st Gear February 25, 2003 Author Share February 25, 2003 Um, apparently the 1.4 in the Leon is the 75hp one, I guess not to clash with the 1.6L unit. Whereas the Polo has no 1.6L option, so is able to offer two 1.4L engines, with 75hp and 100hp.
Magfocus 5th Gear February 25, 2003 Share February 25, 2003 But there are two engines with the same configurations, both DOHC 1.4 16V? But one is 75HP and the other is 100HP. Just want to know the difference Like different cams etc.. Australia is only available with the 75HP version

Mojoe Neutral Newbie February 25, 2003 Share February 25, 2003 Me too!!! In black!! Test drove.. Really solid car, but the 1.4l engine cannot move... with this... different story..
Assassin Clutched February 25, 2003 Share February 25, 2003 Of course...of course...and no one will know that its a Fabia that just smoked them, esp with that checkerbox paintwork.

Ya, the Fabia 1.4M is on the 8V 68bhp whereas the Fabia 1.4A is on the 16V 75bhp which i guess share the same engine as Polo & Leon.
