A4 Stock ICE upgrade

Hi all,

 

I'm driving an A4 B6. Stock system comes with stock HU and 8 speakers + 1 woofer. Qn, if I just want to change the front component speakers and add an amp, wat suggestions to u guys have? I'm hoping to spend less than $600 incl installations. Also any suggestion on installer? Thx!

I think your car comes with a decent system already so changing to entry level equipment will not give you substantial improvement.

Suggest you hang on for a while or join us for Wed meetup to sample different setup & decide for yourself.

You can look and source around before making commitments. Shops like Audioedge, Chuan Sin, Yihing, Swift motion, New Generation, Kingsway.......all not bad

 

My installer, Audioedge got some pretty decent brands to look at and Audit like Rockford, DLS, PPI, Focal, Diamond, PHD, Luxman, Dynaudio,etc.....At least u will have a rough idea of whats more suitable for you

Thx for the comments. I agree the stock system is quite decent but somehow I feel the speakers can't handle bass (or is it mids) too well coz when there are bassy tunes, I can hear the thumping bass from the rear woofer but the sound from the door speakers are distorted. And usually when I turn the volume a big louder than average level. That's y I feel like upgrading the front speakers to something better and maybe add an amp as well.

 

Hmm, I'm pay those shops a visit soon and update u guys. if time permits, I'll also try to meetup with u guys Thx!
