Noise from lancer

Dear owner of lancer so you find that the noise level in your car is quite bad? Mine is presently stock condition, but due to the lousy noise insulation. I am going for a full SP. Hopefully it will be like sunny once it's done.

Did you have window visors installed?

 

They might be contributing to the wind noise.

1.6l Lancer's SOHC engine (used in 2001 pre-facelifted Lancer 1.6) may be noisy by nature.

 

It is quite an old engine too.

It's not really the engine that's noisy. The noise mainly comes from wheels and floor pan

for lancer the door seal is not so gd cause the wind noise alway come from door.

the noise from tyre also not so gd ...

i m also driving 1 ... hehehe...

but i have ICE so not so bad... :)

i agree. e engine is very smooth n relatively quiet (if u nv ram). e noise not from there.

dont think so leh. drivers of corolla and altis has said that their rubber door seal lagi worst. tink there was a thread on this previously.

yeah agreed, the noise insulation isn't very good, plus the wearing of the tires makes the noise even worse.

i don't think it's the door seal alone, as the noise from the road, tyres and what-have-you seem to be able to find their way into the cabin

But when got passenger, it will be difficult to talk. Now my car is less than a week old so the wind is not coming in yet. But the tires noise is bad

You mean sunny SP is good? My foot! It's the worst that I have seen. Really disappointed with the SP on roof and doors. My 15 year old civic has a better SP on its roof.

 

New car should have a fairly good SP in my opinion.

 

May be new cars which cost lesser don't come with good SP so that their cost can remain competitive?

I am not talking about roof. If you compare roof most of the normal jap brand cars can't make it. I am refering to the noise level when travelling only, confirm it's worse than sunny, i drive sunny too. Sunny's SP is than lancer SP

I like the look of the car too. Anyway did the sound proofing today. Major damage done to my pocket and it's only 90% SP. Major area has been done up and the car is much more quiet now. Plus a normal ICE. Yeah a happy lancer owner again.
