Dear all Octavia owners,

Presently driving a 3.5 years old Classis and have been experiencing a few minor glitches, which was handled easily. However, just wondering anyone ever experienced the ABS warning light comes in, if so, what was done and explained. According to the manual, it does not affect braking , but drive accordingly, which means no panic braking.

Wanted the ABS out of the cars for years, maybe it is a wish comes true. Just wanted to dispose the warning.

Yes, just met Linus and he said that I have not logged in for a long while, and that's when the ABS warning appeared....hem....unimpressed.gifunimpressed.gifunimpressed.gif Linus....just kidding

you can remove the ABS light bulb :)

but do get very good tires, cuz in the wet, though abs seems to prolong braking distance, it prevents the car from skiing totally

Thanks for the quick response. Should have said too that there is this "ting" warning sounds for a short period. Maybe shoudl just live with it.

The warning sound may have comne from the ABS unit accumulator. Maybe the brake fluid water content is on the high side and maybe have caused sluggish movement in the accumulator unit. Suggest you flush, replace with the right spec fluid and bleed the system with vacuum or pressure bake bleeder.

i believe the wiring is underneath your front seats. either disconnect it, so the circuit never closes(no boing) or solder a resistor if its closed by default

The boing speaker prolly comes from the same speaker the abs boing comes from, but doubt the abs wires are so easily disconnected cuz most are from ECU, but you can disable the speaker, but there won't be anymore warning boings using that same speaker.

Mine lighted up. But that was also because the rear brakes were jammed and affected the movement of rear tyres. Had to service the rear brakes.

The ABS reminds you that MCF misses you laugh.gif

Glad that there are some who experience this before and they have highlighted their view, which I am most grateful. Just wanted to know more, generall, such stuff, I try to do it myself. eg. Like Lukie said, it might be jammed, I am not feeling the car being drag, but I just need to open the drum brakes to have a look, and also to grease it since I have open it.

Did you feel any drag on your car when that happened to you.

Since the fluid is new, looks like there maybe air bubble in the system causing the accumulator to unable to be hydraullically "solid"

Yo bro, you might want to disconnect the ABS cable while before turning on the engine in the morning. Then turn off the engine after a minute and plg back the cable. Turn back on the engine again and see if the ABS light is gone, if not, let me know. [;)] ...
