Flood.

Sharing another experience with the Octavia going trough a flooded area. Octavian's should take note and be careful.

 

Flood patch was about just slightly lower than half the wheel deep. while prodding thru the flood, i have to rev the engine up to about 4-5k just to get a 5-10kmh speed with clutch fully released. It felt like the clutch failed to get a grip to the engine and it's on half clutch mode. I stepped on the acc pedal all the way fearing the engine would stall!

 

Once i crossed the flood patch, car would pick up acceleration like before.

 

Anyone knows if there are any sensors making the car behave like that? Octavia clutch assembly susceptable to flood?

Probably the clutch is not fully engaged even though you have released the pedal fully.

maybe 2k for pushing the water at the tail end of the exhaust pipe and 2k for the clutch side. I guess you are on either 1st or 2nd gear at that time.

Any other car also clearing the flood at that time together with u.

 

Don't think there are sensor for flood. But it's normal for rpm to be higher than norm when clearing flooded area and clutch probably not fully engage or else engine may die of choking.

Cannot remember if yours is manual or auto. I kenna a flooded area within 6 months collecting my car. I didn't have this problem, but hell it is damn tough for me to keep the engine rev up while coming to a stop with braking. that is tough man with an auto gearbox.....
