Alant 1st Gear September 12, 2006 Share September 12, 2006 Any other preventive measures other than using back stock filter? Example like what I mentioned more frequent oil change?
Biccat Neutral Newbie September 13, 2006 Share September 13, 2006 What often do you intend to change your oil, 5 km, 3 km or 1 km? The moment silica gets into your engine, it will start doing its job b4 the next oil change. Of course, the diehard may claim that the oil filter will do its job of filtering out the silica b4 its does any harm. You got to weigh the risk and decide which way you want to go. Based on the period that most of us will hold on to out rides, it is likely to be minimal. But for me, better to be safe than sorry later on.
