I'm think of trying GSD3-F1 after using 2sets of GIII? Then some user swear that T1R is much better.........Get more confuse when more 'research' is done. laugh.gif

I'm looking for a good balance of both wet & dry braking & handling. Noise as long as not worse than the GIII is fine for me.

I got my T1R before the tokyo drift movie so didnt realise that they are such good drift tyres until the movie came out. unsure.gif

Personally, trying is believing so having used both the GIII and T1R, the verdict is easy - T1R wins by clear margin. Dry & wet handling, cornering and braking is better. My personal testing ground are the winding "old" roads in Msia - corner at 100kmph no problems and no drifts on the T1Rs! sweatdrop.gif

I've got friends using the RS2 and I do think that they are currently the best in terms of dry + wet + comfort + low price in market now. Close behind would be the T1R. AD07 have been known to be poor in the wet. shakehead.gif

orixy dude, u might have just convinced me to get a set of T1R's. i wonder if 195/45R14 have to be specially ordered in tho, cuz dun think its a size every dealer carries [:/]

say, anydude know where i can get a set of enkei ES-Tarmac rims too? better yet, if there's a place i can get the entire setup done? how much anydude think it'll come up to?

I'm confused like lorrliew.. [confused]

If it's good for drifting, then the grip shd not be that good since it shd not bite. Or maybe I'm just being ignorant. [:/]

rite now my rims are 14x6, with 185/60r14 rubbers.

checked it out liao - enkei n volk have 14x6.5's that i might be interested in but might have to be enkei since volk will most likely burn more than a hole in my pocket.

i've made a list(cuz i'm very forgetful) of rims n tyres that come in my preferred sizes, unfortunately i left it in my office [laugh]

i drive a march k11.

I think after all the reading, i might go for the F1...

Anyone has a rough price of the F1 (German Made)?

For 195/55 R15? And where to get the german ones in SG?

I also heard and seen the Federal brand tyres copied exactly the F1 thread...and my friend driving a WRC said the federals are great....so i'm presuming if the fake is great, the original will be better hehe..

To bro Chilidawg: From Toyo's website, the smallest size for T1R is 195/45/R14. But locally, I think you may need to order it from dealers cos it is a rare size that shops will stockup.

Bro Sony, every tyre is capable of drifting if you if you know how to make 'em drift! sly.gif

Difference is some tyres progressively break traction (drift), while others hold traction till it breaches its limit and suddenly breaks traction (skid).

Not sure why the tokyo drift movie chooses the T1R as its "official tyres" though... rolleyes.gif Are all the cars in tokyo drift using T1Rs? If not, then my guess is that toyo could have simply chosen the tokyo drift movie as an advertising move to push its brandname into intnl market. sly.gif

IMO, dont worry too much abt the T1R's association with the tokyo drift movie and listen to real world user opinions intead.

PS: Guys, maybe more T1R users can come out to give your comments on the T1R's good and bad points so that we can all learn from 'em? thumbsup.gif

Toyo TR1 n Hankook RS2 is not at the same range tyre. Its at the range of Hankook Ventus Sport K104 if im not wrong. Treadwear for RS2 is only 200 TR1 is 280 same as Ventus Sport. Hankook has one higher end tyre the S1 evo at 280 treadwear n the tyre is very light.

FFFO, like orixy dude says - gotta call up the local dealers to check it out as they may not carry in 14's cuz they're not very common. well, at least the 195/45r14 is not, i'm guessing. but lets hope for the best, shall we? wat car do u drive that u'd require such small shoes, btw?

i've yet to call the dealers cuz as much as i wanna change the rims n tires at once, a near-understeer/crash incident just a couple nites ago prompted me to go for a sus upgrade n some struts or sways. i'm relunctant, but stability before power, as always...

orixy - thx for the advice. i'll make sure to remember to call around for the different 195/45r14's available for all the brands n post it up for those who might be looking for them [;)]

now i'm thinking of saving up $$$ first n going to a garage to get EVERYTHING done at once - namely, 1)new coilovers, 2)rims & rubbers, 3)struts & 4)boss kit with(maybe) sparco steering [dizzy]

so if anyone might wanna highly recommend a workshop where i can get all these done at a good price with excellent workmanship, i'm all ears man.

i feel broke already...

thx amigos!

Ahhh.. thanks for the clarification.

I do heard good review on T1R but not enough to make them into my list..

Now, I'm still chosing between BS GR80, Good Year F1 and Hankook V8RS.

How would you place T1R among the 3? Or is T1R more performance based that is closer to F1? Even for F1, there's Thai and German made. A lot said that German made are better but is the compound situation for our country? I presume Thailand shd be more appriopriate. [:)]

Still very cloudy at my end [confused]
