I'm afraid the maintainance is quite high from what i gather from other owners. i was previously looking at opel meriva but decided not to buy due to its potentially higher running costs

My friend's Zafira recently needs a fuel injectors rail change bcoz the engine can suddenly die on the road at anytime.

Cost $2k approximate, she gave up and sold away the car. [laugh]

I think it is a nice car, but prepare to spend for maintenance.

4yr old only?

I'm still so tempted to get the car, but maybe I sell it b4 the warranty is up?

trying to convince myself tt it can't be that bad, esp w so many european cars on the road! [:p]

I think it's also a matter of timing. Those who bought cars around 2002 had paid a high COE and also they have high PARF value, if sold before 5yrs.

The repair bill might just be the catalyst that make her sell.

Another friend also sold his Corsa before 5yrs to maximise the car value.

Is zafira so needy of maintenance?

I'm contemplating btw this and Wish. It's abt 5k diff... Or should i just hold, and dont buy first. I can make do with current car.... just that it's a bit of squeeze...

I think is better and spare part more easy to find. See on the rd and you can see a lot of wish. So many wish can't be wrong, right?

i suggest you go for the wish.

In this price range, just buy what's proven.

(if you really must have the Zafira, wait awhile , gather more information from the owners of the 1.8 variant and decide if you're ready for the car)

i was oso contemplating in the 1.8 zafira mta. it has a gd technology n the handbrake is just superb, like the aeroplane brakes, the shape is nice w/o any bodykits but one thing that puts me off is the 3rd row sits. it's shaped for only 2 pax as there is a plastic piece running in between the seats so u can't put 3 pax there like most MPVs can...so i dump the idea...

Just to give you an idea. My friend who is going for his first 10k for his 1.8A Astra was quoted $214 for the servicing. That is just a quote and not the final bill.
