I was told that car made before 1992 are without seat belts for the rear seats.

If it's so, is it possible to ask mechanic to install it? Any idea how much it cost?

Yes, this is correct. If the car does not come with originally fitted seat belt and is before 1992, it is not mandatory to hv them.

However, if u need to hv a child seat, then ask mechanic to install for you a belt so to hold the child seat. No need those 3 point seat belt because yr existing ride might not hv position to put the shoulder point. Just the 2 point bottom (those for centre seat one will do). I ask my mechanic to install for me some old used seat belt (salvage from my parents old van) during my servicing... they charge me $10 for labor. They reinforced the points to make sure its sturdy. I used the car seats for my 3 kids ever since (5 yrs) until I changed car recently. [flowerface]

no soot, no extra carbon, no loud noise under normal engine ram If body did not corrode, I will get the door fix, search for the filter...

it seems that the criteria for passing is not as stringent as i thought.... thats a huge relief [sweatdrop]

so long u maintain yr car, not to worry [nod] enjoy yr purchase [thumbsup]
