Ah_bon Neutral Newbie December 18, 2007 Share December 18, 2007 Hi Jascyt Did it happen the very 1st time you use it or after a few times you use it?
Jascyt Neutral Newbie December 19, 2007 Share December 19, 2007 Used it twice so far, both times after an extended period of use, the smoke started producing and the machine got very hot. Could it be since it's a new machine, the oiled parts are running in and excess lubricating oil is being burnt off? Or there shouldn't be any smoke at all from the very beginning? Starting to be worried..
Ah_bon Neutral Newbie December 19, 2007 Share December 19, 2007 It is possible tthe pc might be over oil. Is the smoke white colour? If it is, it could be excess lub oil. Try using a few more time and see how. If its not, then it's likely to be other things.. smoke coming out from which part of the machine? top part adjoining the backing plate? Jascyt Neutral Newbie December 19, 2007 Share December 19, 2007 Hi Bro Yep the smoke is whitish, coming out mainly from the gaps after the black head where you can see the counterweight spinning. I suspect it's the factory lubricants. Will monitor for a few more polishes and see how it goes.. when the smoke appeared, what I did was to stop work and let the machine "cool" off a little before continuing. It's pretty disrupting but I dared not take the risk. How long do you usually work the machine for? Is it ok with extended usage? Thanks for all the help rendered so far
Ah_bon Neutral Newbie December 20, 2007 Share December 20, 2007 Hi Jascyt I dunno how long is consider "extended". i just use it until i finish my detail. How long it takes to detail a car will depends on how bad is the paint condition. But its' common for a whole detail to take 5-6 hours, some times even longer. But of course the PC is not on throughout the whole period. :) Each pass with the product for each panel will probably take a few minutes. Then the machine will be off for a few minutes untill i go for the next pass. Even if i use the MF bonnet for buffing of wax for the whole car will probably be 15mins? (never time how long it takes) If it's white smoke, then it maybe the machine is over oiled :) try to use it a few more time and see if the white smoke will become lesser and gradually. :)

Mine was priority shipment and paid about US$100. Darn thing cost me close to S$500. Know the rating of transformer to use?

How much is the shipping cost ? If you compare direct shipping and through Vpost..Prices are not much different..Shipping direct will be better if you are shipping waxes/polishes.. If you wish to ship polishes through Vpost..I suggest avoid..Usually they require MSDS.. In fact most forwarders are taking the risk of shipping all this stuff..They are not sure the content in them..Few years back..Duragloss HQ try to shipped some product by AIR..upon arrival..there is a leak somewhere and they are realise the content does not mean requirement..Guess what is the fine?? They slap DG with a fine of USD50,000 and the DG President went for appeal..In the end he paid a fine of USD15,000..From then..they dun shipped any of their products by AIR.. ↡ Advertisement
