i found these at SHC:

maybe honda won't give any 2.0L below engine DOHC [:/]

I thought there was one version of civic 1.6 c/w DOHC vtec, not sure which verion [:)]

yes! it is

EK9 - '98 - '00 Civic Type R 3dr(99 spec) 1.6l DOHC VTEC B16B engine [thumbsup]

ES are all sohc engines and not ivtec..

the FD series are ivtec engines

 

honda higher end SOHC engines are even better than other makes low end DOHC engines.

BTW, what is the different of i-Vtec and Vtec?

I tot i-Vtec only got better FC than Vtec[confused]

one difference i can thk of is ES civic with VTEC engine uses timing belt while i-VTEC uses timing chain

wow! timing chain is much better than timing belt, rite?

my 1st car was a 2nd hand city (60k km already), just drove another 20k, needed to change timing belt, sh*it! few hundreds eaten by KM [sweatdrop], no way, kownledgeless lah [blush]

no wonder the guy sold his car before changing timing belt [furious]
