exactly. thanks yuhsuan for the details. as we expected, it was indeed a hifi-oriented setup. unfortunately it is a secret how the hifi is achieved. i suppose it's the right of any inventor to not share knowledge, so i shall not ask further.

thank you all for the details!

long live friendly hobbyists!

going off-topic, high end crossover components are always favoured, supposedly imparting sonic attributes such as faster bass etc. apart from the obvious high standard of material tolerance promised by high-end product manufacturers, i have not really seen any graphs, for example, showing the "speed" or "decay" of, say, some high-end aircore coil. have you? but i'm sure hifi enthusiasts have long heard its effects in setups. pity can't visualise it on a graph.

It'll be good to have a meetup for us to hear his setup. I didn't get a chance the other day although a few people did but from the outside, it does sound really good, just like home audio.

All of us here area also DIY people who share the same hobby :) We all strongly believe in DIY and most of our setups have also been diyed and some form of modification has also been done here and there so when a new innovative technology arises, we're all wetting our pants to know more...I know for myself, if i dun get to hear it or understand more about it...i confirm cannot tahan one :)

So please do...arrange a time for use hobbists to share our "knowledge" and to learn more about his as well.

Hi,

Thanks for showing interest. We just want to share a new concept in sound development thats all.

To us, sound is sound. Be it home oriented or car oriented, quality sound can be achieved with the least amount of money spent together with minimum amount of "weights" being put into a car. We don't care about graphs, what speed or decay. At the end of the day, it is for our ears enjoyment only.

For those who do not have tens of thousands to spent on ICE, I believed this is another good perimeter to look into. Make best use of our money.

You can private message me your contacts and we make arrangement through phones for a sound audition. Remember to bring your own best CDs. [;)]

yay exciting.. i interested!

using home concepts in car is really good. for example, how often do u hear many people say their bookshelf speaker 6.5", 5.5" driver, sounds great at home, and bassy enough in the bedroom?

a car volume is even smaller than a bedroom. there will be greater likelihood of cabin gain. so instead of doing the usual way of mounting midbass in doors like most of us do, if we concentrate on getting a PROPER enclosure done up right, for example, in the picture shown of the Edix, with the rear enclosure, nice front port calculated properly etc, u can enjoy good bass and don't need sub, just as in the case of this car.

the problem is, most of us all do the "standard way of install" - no proper enclosure, use "soundproofing" to give ourselves a poor excuse for an enclosure, etc ... we're actually robbing ourselves of the low end, then we start thinking of putting big sub box, take up boot space, then need simi powerful amp to drive simi powerful sub ....

and the greatest sin of all, we ICE people who just play car, and dun have any home audio experience, all overestimate the "correct" amount of bass. we put the sub gain up so high, we EQ up the bass bands ... all this ends up being excessive! and we won't know, cos we have no proper reference point.

really looking forward to this audition. we can see from the picture it's designed with a strong purpose in mind.

Wow...this car set-up is truely unique...

It get me thinking....the Yamaha Inline Homes entertainment speakers that I talked about in another posting......maybe it may just work likewise with a little bit of hardwork and effort in hooking it up in the car.

Hi,

Who is Mr Jacky? Where is JM Audio? You mean he did the sound system for that blue Edix?

Hi,

Sorry you got the wrong information. This car got no involvement with any audioshop pertaining to its sound tuning and system setup. [:)]
