Uncleo 1st Gear March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 (edited) At full electric mode the FC graph gauge will max out. Also the FC meter trip (assuming you just reset it) will jump significantly. You will see figures like 40.0 or 50.0km/l, of course the longer you stay in Full-electric the figure may max out to 99.9km/l (I wasn't able to stay long to do this) The engine rpm is not zero but kept running in case power is needed. You will also see 1-5bars on the IMA assist graph gauge, depending on how hard you step the accelerator (very sensitive) Edited March 30, 2007 by Uncleo ↡ Advertisement
Ngaiky83 Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 (edited) Actually tried both the Prius & Civic b4 decided to get the Civic.. pick up is alright, except for the point when u need wait for the engine to sort of "wake up" from the shut off mode to move off from a stop (slight vibration to indicate the gasoline engine is in work again)... Other than that the pickup is fine, compared to the loud roar of Prius when u press your foot in.. Prius accelerator is tighter than Civic!! Another point is, I'm those who doesn't usually kick in my accelerator when moving off so its actually alright 4 me... maintain below or ard 2000rpm when moving off.. Go for test drive on both models bro.. Edited March 30, 2007 by Ngaiky83
Ngaiky83 Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 (edited) Seriously if Prius improved the design (both interior & exterior), I would have gotten the Prius in the 1st place because of its proven FC!!! Just don't like the 'log cok' exhaust, 'ah pek' looking hatchback, no leather seats, useless monitor infront and small leg room in the rear.. Only thing that I fancy is the gear knob & of course the great FC.. Edited March 30, 2007 by Ngaiky83
Ngaiky83 Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 If this is the case, I'll go try it out later.. But the Prius electric mode is the best because of its total quietness.. cool!!
Jango 2nd Gear March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 Bro NGAIKY83, did you test drive the normal Civic? In terms of body build quality and cabin/road noise insulation, is the hybrid civic the same or different? Which is better?
Ngaiky83 Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 (edited) No i did not test drive the normal Civic.. In term of body build quality I assumed it should be the same ba...So i think the noise insulation should be the same too. Presumed only hor... As for interior, everything originate from Jeepon!! including leather. If only I can change to black leather seats to match my black car.. Dlar2 Neutral Newbie March 30, 2007 Author Share March 30, 2007 So it is not full electric in Prius terms. Because on Prius, there is total no RPM on the ICE. Thanks for the clarification.
Dlar2 Neutral Newbie March 30, 2007 Author Share March 30, 2007 It is a hard decision. Civic Hybrid is in the high seventies but Prius is 90k More than 10k difference.
Ngaiky83 Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 (edited) For me, the Civic FC of 17km/l (my own attained FC; 40% city 60% xpressway) is already very compared to Prius proven FC of 20km/l by some other drivers... Civic also look sportier & is more spacious.. Except that Civic is now a common sight on the road now.. Road tax of cos is based on the engine capacity which is less than $700p.a. if I remember mine correctly.. hehee.. The above are just my choice.. Its all up to u to decide.... Jango 2nd Gear March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 Very tempting indeed. What is your mileage now? With the hybrid, can go outside workshop to service or not?
Dlar2 Neutral Newbie March 30, 2007 Author Share March 30, 2007 At 17km/l, full tank how far you can travel and how much petrol you pump? How big is Civic Hybrid's fuel tank??
Ngaiky83 Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 my total mileage now is abt 15,000. The sales agent advised me to go back KM to service leh... Cos they say if I miss any service, my warranty will be voided, don't know true or not.. SO better not risk it as U might not know what will happen to these "new" hybrid cars in Spore.. Ngaiky83 Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 50L tank.. But everytime I run till left 1 red bar or no more red bar, I only managed to top up about 41L at the 1st click.. Nvr tried filling to the brim.. But the furthest I managed to hit is around 720km at 1st click of full tank fill up.
Ngaiky83 Clutched March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 Bro, Just curious to know if U have tried out the max speed for civic hybrid? maybe at NSH?? Because the sgcarmart.com shows a spec of hybrid with a top speed of 115km/h?? http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/auth_car_info.php?AC=607 But i managed to even run at 130km/h at 2,500rpm in spore leh Just curious to find out if anyone hit the max or near max speed?? Uncleo 1st Gear March 30, 2007 Share March 30, 2007 I think they meant 115mph (miles per hour)

When the FC graph guage max out, it only means that your car is travel at the most efficient gasoline state; meaning the car is still running on gasoline!!! When the car is switched to electric mode, i.e coming to a complete stop or when the rpm is 0, the FC graph is a complete empty; indicating the car is truly in an electric mode.. Hope this can help u clear up that the FC graph only show how efficiently u are driving..
