  1. The current 10th generation Civic was officially unveiled on 17 September 2015, and after close to 5 years, the next gen is on the horizon. The spy shots below shown the 5 door Type R variant, which look more upright than the current gen even though it was wearing heavy cladding. More spy shots of the other variants can be expected to surface very soon. Stay tuned.
  2. Cars that run on hydrogen and exhaust only water vapor are emerging to challenge electric vehicles as the world’s transportation of the future. At auto shows on two continents Wednesday, three automakers unveiled hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to be delivered to the general public as early as next spring. Hyundai Motor Co. will be the first to the mass market in the U.S. It unveiled a hydrogen-powered Tucson small SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show that will be leased to consumers. Honda also revealed plans in Los Angeles for a car due out in 2015. Earlier, at the Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota promised a mass-produced fuel cell car by 2015 in Japan and 2016 in the U.S. Hydrogen cars are appealing because unlike electric vehicles, they have the range of a typical gasoline car and can be refueled quickly. Experts say the industry also has overcome safety and reliability concerns that have hindered distribution in the past. But hydrogen cars still have a glaring downside — refueling stations are scarce, and costly to build. Consumers can expect costs in line with some luxury models. In Tokyo, Toyota promised a price of $50,000 to $100,000, and as close to the lower figure as possible. That’s comparable to its Lexus luxury sedans, but a range that makes the once space-age experiment with fuel cells more credible. Hyundai said it will lease the Tucsons for $499 per month for three years with $3,000 down. And Hyundai is offering to pay the hydrogen and maintenance costs. The company will start leasing in the Los Angeles area, where most of the state’s nine fueling stations are located. California lawmakers have allocated $100 million to build 100 more. Honda wouldn’t reveal any pricing details. Even as battery-powered and hybrid-electric cars took on conventional gasoline models in the past decade, automakers continued research into hydrogen fuel cells, said Paul Mutolo, director of external partnerships for the Cornell University Energy Materials Center. Manufacturers now are limited only by costs and the lack of filling stations, he said. Hydrogen cars, Mutolo said, have an advantage over battery-powered electric cars because drivers don’t have to worry about running out of electricity and having to wait hours for recharging. “It’s very similar to the kind of behavior that drivers have come to expect from their gasoline cars,” he said. Hydrogen fuel cells use a complex chemical process to separate electrons and protons in hydrogen gas molecules. The electrons move toward a positive pole, and the movement creates electricity. That powers a car’s electric motor, which turns the wheels. Since the hydrogen isn’t burned, there’s no pollution. Instead, oxygen also is pumped into the system, and when it meets the hydrogen ions and electrons, that creates water and heat. The only byproduct is water. A fuel cell produces only about one volt of electricity, so many are stacked to generate enough juice. Hydrogen costs as little as $3 for an amount needed to power a car the same distance as a gallon of gasoline, Mutolo said. 2019 facelift Honda Shuttle

Hi all, since this car was release on May 2019, would like to start a thread on the facelift model. As 2019 model all comes with standard Honda sensing, maybe we can share ideas and mods?
  4. The driver of a yellow Honda fit attempted to evade carpark payment but ended up failing and was confronted by the driver of the white Skoda Octavia he was tailgating instead. Here's the video This incident took place at the carpark of Takashimaya. In the video, the yellow Honda Fit tries to evade parking fees by tailgating a white Skoda Octavia. But the driver of the Octavia was having none of it and intentionally blocked the Honda Fit. Leaving it awkwardly stuck under the gantry arm. The Skoda driver then exits his car in agitation while walking towards the Honda Fit to confront the driver. Noteworthy: There is an ongoing promotion for 2 hours of free parking at Ngee Ann City, with no minimum spend. Is it worth committing a parking offence over that few dollars? If guilty of tailgating at an EPS exit gantry to avoid payment, the Honda Fit driver could face a $70 fine. Repeat offenders may be charged in court. Netizens' comments The conclusion seems to be clear-cut 🤐 Undoubtedly, there has been an increased occurrence of payment evasion offences, with these offences being committed by tailgating the front vehicle. Here are some recent cases of payment evasion: Mitsubishi Lancer tailgating camcar out of carpark Hyundai Avante tailgating and got confronted by camcar Toyota Sienta tailgating camcar out of SuperBowl Jurong carpark However, the most unusual occurrence of payment evasion belongs to this purple Volkswagen Scirocco. TBH, I am damn puzzled as to why the driver damaged his Scirocco to evade paying his carpark fees. The math just does not add up. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. We’ll even give you $100 cash if you find a better offer elsewhere! 5. Honda's a genius in churning out state-of-the-art small cars. Here's why. The 2014 Honda Jazz is 4cm shorter but it offers 138 liters more cabin-space volume and nearly 13cm of extra rear legroom - compared to the predecessor. Here's how Honda engineers eked out extra room in a shorter car. For starters, Jazz's wheelbase has been stretched further apart by 3cm allowing its rear seat bench to move back outwardly by 7.6cm. Next, engineers made the centrally-mounted fuel tank located beneath the front seats thinner liberating more space for passengers but retains the same liter-volume as previous models. Plus, the new Jazz could be served in a hedonic shade of lemonade yellow to go with its packaging.
  6. Hi there, my Honda Civic is going to reach 10 years next June. I am thinking of extending the COE, but some say might as well get a new car because of my car's high mileage (already 180,000km). Any advice on which would be better? I am thinking of extending the COE because my usage has dropped quite a lot in the last 2 years (don't need to send wife to work or kids to school anymore), and I send the car to Koh Motors for servicing regularly, so I thought the car can tahan another 5 years. Thanks!

    2016 2nd Generation Honda Freed

Wow... 2016 freed is bigger and better!
  8. The video footage is from a cam car, which was also involved in the chain collision. This accident happened on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) before Exit 12, causing a massive jam. In the video, a white Audi A3 Cabriolet performed an emergency brake just before the cam car slams into its rear. Moments after that, an over-turned Honda Jazz slid along lane 2 of the expressway. What exactly happened? A top-down view of the accident revealed that four vehicles were involved in the chain collision. It turns out that the Audi A3 Cabriolet performed an emergency brake because of the car in front of it. However, it remains unclear why the front car braked so abruptly, causing this accident. There are speculations that the Honda Jazz swerved out of the lane to avoid this chain collision. As a result, it turned turtle from the sudden shift in weight balance. A 7-month-old girl and two men were conveyed to the hospital after this chain collision. Netizens' comments As always, please drive safely and practice defensive driving at all times. We hope that all those involved in the accident are well and wishing them a speedy recovery. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 12. The 2024 Honda Prologue EV was developed with help from GM. source: https://www.motortrend.com/news/2024-honda-prologue-electric-suv The slow drip of information about the new electric SUVs coming from the Honda and Acura brands continues with this latest droplet from the information faucet: the higher-volume Honda model will bear the name Prologue. The 2024 Honda Prologue is due to arrive in 2024, and its name signifies its role as the forerunner of a series of new, high-volume, battery electric vehicles from the Japanese brand. This includes a luxury, performance SUV for Acura, which is also slated to go on sale in 2024. No name for the Acura has been revealed yet. Call the GM Both the Honda Prologue and its Acura counterpart, as well as the two vehicles' battery systems, are being developed in partnership with General Motors. The two SUVs will use GM's flexible BEV3 electric vehicle architecture and Ultium battery management system—the same system used in the likes of the forthcoming 2022 GMC Hummer EV full-size pickup, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, the Chevrolet Silverado electric pickup truck, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq SUV, and the Cadillac Celestiq sedan, not to mention a number of other future GM EV models. The point of all this sharing is to create scale, which brings down the costs of various EV components, including batteries, for both GM and Honda. Co-development also means shared costs, and the Honda and Acura SUVs will be built in a GM plant in North America that's specifically tooled for EV production. This ought to further spread out and lower manufacturing costs. The Prologue is rumored to be built at GM's Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico, while the Acura EV will come out of GM's Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, which is currently being retooled to make EVs such as the Cadillac Lyriq. Same Bones, Different Looks Despite sharing many mechanical pieces, both GM's and Honda's EVs will look very different. The styling of the bodies and interiors of these vehicles will come from each automakers' respective design studio. We've been told the upcoming Honda Prologue was designed at Honda's design studio in Los Angeles to meet the expectations of North American customers. There are few details about these upcoming North American-focused Honda and Acura electric SUVs. Both could be larger, three-row family utility vehicles that are specific to the North American market or the two could be smaller models aimed at tapping into several markets. Gardner only noted that the Prologue is designed to be highly competitive, with the functionality required to meet diverse needs. Anticipated annual sales volume is expected to fall somewhere between the Honda Passport mid-size SUV, of which 22,000 units have sold through May 2021 in the United States, and the three-row Honda Pilot SUV, of which Honda sold 62,000 such models in the first five months of the year. The Honda and Acura models are being designed to stay true to each brands' respective DNA: mainstream for Honda, performance for Acura. Honda Plans to Make Its Own EVs and Batteries The Honda Prologue and its still-unnamed Acura counterpart will use GM's flexible EV architecture, but Honda plans to launch a new series of EV models in the second half of the decade based on its own, forthcoming, "e:Architecture". To be profitable, Honda knows it also needs to make its own batteries in North America. "Other markets around the world have a more robust battery production industry and that has to happen here in North America to go forward to achieve the goals of hitting the volumes that everybody is looking to do," Gardner said. He declined to provide a timeframe. Honda is doing its own independent research on solid-state batteries. The industry is pursuing solid-state batteries for the technology's ability to provide a greater driving range, as well as its reduced costs. Honda will have a "demonstration line" to begin testing the tech this fiscal year as it aims to make solid-state batteries available by the end of the decade. Honda's EV History Honda is a bit of a laggard in the battery electric vehicle game, choosing to rely on its two-motor hybrid system for electrification instead. The Japanese carmaker lacks a dedicated electric vehicle for the North American market. Past EVs, including the Fit EV, the FCX Clarity fuel cell sedan, and the latest Clarity EV, have all been discontinued in the U.S. Honda may be a leader in efficient vehicles with internal combustion engines (and its history with electric vehicles dates back decades), but the automaker has not been perceived as an EV leader in recent years, Gardner admitted. Honda's New Global Electric Vehicle Targets Now the automaker is playing catchup with a pledge by Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe to become carbon neutral by 2050. In major markets, including North America, the target is for BEV or fuel cell electric vehicles to account for 40 percent of sales by 2030; 80 percent by 2035; and 100 percent by 2040. Gardner would not say how much Honda is investing in EVs other than to note R&D spending for the next six years will be 10 percent higher than in previous years. In the near term, Honda's strategy is to introduce a higher percentage of gasoline-electric hybrids in its model mix. "We know people who have a good experience with a hybrid are likely to buy a BEV," Gardner said. Building more hybrids in North America will help Honda prepare to make EVs in the future. Currently, Honda builds the Accord, CR-V, and Insight hybrids in the U.S. Gardner would not share if Honda will join the electric pickup craze by adding electric motors and a battery pack to the Ridgeline pickup. Fuel Cell and Autonomous Vehicle Work Continues Honda's larger EV strategy includes continuing to work with GM on fuel cells. Honda has also been working in partnership with GM and its autonomous vehicle brand Cruise since 2018. Cruise is preparing to launch the Cruise Origin robotaxi. The Japanese automaker will use the bones of the Origin for its own autonomous vehicle, which will feature a body and interior designed by Honda. Honda also announced a joint venture with Hitachi to make electric motors. Some Honda and Hitachi suppliers have merged to develop components for EVs and automated vehicles. In China, Honda formed an alliance with Chinese battery maker CATL, and the first CATL batteries will go into a Chinese-market electric vehicle next year. Here's the teaser.
  13. After killing off the Clarity EV last year, Honda is ending production of its hydrogen fuel-cell and plug-in hybrid Clarity models this summer, Autoblog has reported. The decision reportedly came due to weak demand and Honda's new focus on electrification, according to Nikkei. The Clarity fuel-cell vehicle was handicapped in the US from the get-go with a high $71,200 price tag and a lack of hydrogen refueling infrastructure in the US. With the end of the Clarity EV, PHEV and fuel-cell models, Honda is currently building no electrified models at all in the US. However, the company said that it will build enough Clarity fuel-cell models for lessees into 2022 and will provide support for the foreseeable future. Honda previously announced that it would release an electric car for 2024 and plans to only sell zero-emissions EVs by 2040. Those could include EVs, but Honda hasn't given up yet on hydrogen either, having struck a deal with GM to develop fuel cell vehicles. However, most hydrogen in the US is made by reforming natural gas, so the fuel still releases greenhouses gases even though only water comes out a fuel-cell vehicle's tailpipe.
  14. Posted 3 days ago (June 13) on Facebook, a hilarious video showed a man telling his friend about the self-driving feature in his Honda, with a surprise at the end. The video starts with the man’s friend exclaiming over the fact that the car was moving and steering when the man did not have both of his hands on the steering wheel. Holding a fried snack in both of his hands, the man then educated his friend on the new ‘auto-driving’ features in his Honda. Throughout the video, the car was seen turning at junctions and even made a U-turn at one point while both men talked about the car's features. The video promptly ends with the friend turning the camera to reveal the hilarious truth: The ‘self-driving’ Honda was hooked up to a tow truck. While it’s not common to see autonomous vehicles in Singapore just yet, they might be a reality soon with news of the government testing several driverless vehicles in small areas of the country. So even if this video was posted as a joke, we may be able to see and own a self-driving Honda soon enough!

    2021 Honda N-One RS

Honda updates its cute 'n' cuddly kei hatchback, and makes it stick-shift Every single kei car is cute, but some are lucky enough to hit every branch of the cute tree on their plummet to the streets of Tokyo. Kei cars like the Honda N One. This is it in mildly updated form, but Honda has sensibly left its adorable face pretty much alone. It’s all typical facelift fare: newly LED head and tail lights, minor tweaks for the grille and bumpers, and… nowt else. We want to cuddle it just as much as we did before. The biggest news sits betwixt driver and passenger. Go for the top-spec N One RS and you’ll have the option of a six-speed manual gearbox to replace the standard CVT auto. Being a car that slots into tight kei regulations – governing exterior dimensions not much larger than a roller skate, and engines to 660cc and 63bhp maximums – it’s not going to behave like a shrunken Civic Type R. But if Honda’s dinky kei roadster – the similarly cuddly S660 – is anything to go by, it’ll be a delightful and engaging manual. Inside a truly delightful little vehicle…

    Honda City 4th Gen

It's just launched in Thailand. So ours should arrive soon too I suppose. http://paultan.org/2014/01/23/2014-honda-city-launched-in-thailand/ Looks to me that a high spec City is all the car that most people would need. 6 airbags, VSA, cruise control, rear a/c. Looks like no sunroof for Thai cars unlike India. It's amazing how 'low end' cars have so much kit these days (case in point:the Kia K3)! This level of equipment used to be only in much higher end cars.

    Bluedriver - Bluetooth OBD2

Anyone used Bluedriver OBD2 Scanner before? https://www.bluedriver.com/ Most OBD2 scanner comparison reviews (surprisingly there is a lot of them on the internet) recommend Bluedriver as the most comprehensive consumer-level scanner tool. I'm a data geek, so really keen to see other metrics the car has over the standard metrics. I'm waiting on receiving mine (ordered from Amazon). Really hoping it works (cost S$150 with shipping) on my Honda, since the website says that Honda in North America is supported but no guarantees globally. Noticed there were other scanners on Carousell like Lufi. I liked the idea of using an old phone as a display unit, since I can then also use the phone as a GPS tracker for my car (Google Maps + TPG simcard + Old Galaxy S8 = Free GPS tracker).
