Fortress Clutched April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 Any recommendation on the type of lub oil used. ↡ Advertisement
Genie47 1st Gear April 24, 2007 Author Share April 24, 2007 Use your regular lube. That is what the BITOGers say. No need thick lube or anything. The lube will look very clean but cannot be deceived by it because chemically and physically, it will be degraded. Same change interval.
Fortress Clutched April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 Understand that you are the expert on lub oil here, doesn't the higher temp affects the lub and the engine performance.

Genie47 1st Gear April 24, 2007 Author Share April 24, 2007 The lube must be of good quality. That is all. So I just follow regular change intervals with regular oil. Maybe at least Group II+ to Group III formulated.
Genie47 1st Gear April 24, 2007 Author Share April 24, 2007 You got to ask them. If they can convert, they will proudly show it off in the next Motorshow. Maybe pay you handsomely for it too!
Clubace Clutched April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 So you got 2 tanks in your boot? 1 is CNG tank and the other is a 60L water tank??
Genie47 1st Gear April 24, 2007 Author Share April 24, 2007 No lah! The gas cylinder is 60L water capacity. It holds 10kg of compressed gas. My boot space is 400L capacity so theoretically speaking, I now left with 340L capacity.
Cyberet Neutral Newbie April 24, 2007 Share April 24, 2007 oh ya, any tax rebates for CNG converted cars?
Genie47 1st Gear April 24, 2007 Author Share April 24, 2007 (edited) No. If your car is green to begin with when you buy from AD, got rebates. If not green but become half green later, no rebates. Just save marnee from cheaper fuel lah. But I am hopeful. Melchers has changed my car's VITAS. LTA knows this is a a half green car. In MY, half green cars get 3/4 road tax. Full green cars get 1/2 road tax. Edited April 24, 2007 by Genie47
