PS - I would have gotten the Octy if not for wife preferring a larger cabin to fetch family. :-)

I do agreed that the guys here are really nice. I have personally received advices and help from some of you here.

 

If my job dun take me out of Sin so often, I will sure love to have a meet-up with the great guys here.

I would have gone for the superb if i needed the room. When I got my Octy in 03, i needed the room. Now i don't need the room so have gone back to the Octy.

 

I still feel the Octy A5 specs list could have been a bit longer to command the kinda price against the competitors.

 

I'm trying to get the parts directly from stockist or aftermarket folks to see if i can up-spec the car myself.

Would dat void the warranty?

From my 4 yrs experience with CA, if you touch the engine or mechanicals (brakes, suspension), it would void the warranty. Also you must service with them to maintain the warranty as well. I kept my Octy A4 stock for 4 yrs, and it's only getting better everyday. Now i get more torque, and better mileage.

Many bros here know i've kept mine stock and serviced at CA. You might want to check with CA, if servicing with VW (though not related locally, VW is the parent and the cars share many things) will void the warranty. I was told the servicing costs at VW are more competitive now.

 

Personally, piece of mind is priceless, that's what i'm willing to put up with.

but if $102 gets me the Passat 2.0T FSI, i know which car i'd go for... hiak hiak ...and it won't be the one "my dad drove" or sounds like "vodka" .......
