price shd be cheaper by a few Ks..

What I don't like:-

-4sp auto

-no manual option

-HU facia colour is different from the trim.

-rather slow pick up

what most people would like:-

+hard top that can operate when cruising below 30km/h

+much sleeker look compared to 307CC or Megane

+the usual bell and whistle of what the Astra shd have

Erm, that's all the I can.. don't really have much surprise coz it's almost the same as what I have except that it's a cabrio. In fact, mine seems to have slightly better equipping level.

Cheers

hi chermin,

test the car and feel for yourself if the power is indeed lacking. That was my initial (pre testdrive)feel before i bought my Astra 1.8A 5dr. This is a upgraded opel engine, 1.8 VVT with 140bph which is very class competitive. enjoy yr car hunting. cheers

The Astra Twintop is the best looking car among its prime competitors, mainly the Megane & Focus Cabrios.

Although 120K can buy plenty of other lifestyle cars like the Golf GTi, Focus ST, Mini Cooper etc...

If you ask me, the twintop is a better looker than the 2.

The 307cc look a bit out of proportion which a big fat butt. Megane doesn't look that sleek and with the long antenna sticking out in the middle, look a bit funny.

But then, I have not tested the 2. For the twintop, I find that it look better. only complain from an already-astra owner is that it's the same drive to me coz interior is almost the same. in fact, mine got more gadgets than the more expensive twintop.

Another letdown for me was the 4sp auto instead of a 5sp or 6sp manual.

Go for a test and see which one will cause you to drop more hair with the top down.

Cheers

P.S. I can recommend you a good SE if you are keen for the twintop.

I think Opel Twin top looks ok but i find the rear lamp design not very exciting. Peugeot 307CC looks weird and fat and ugly at certain angle but yet its the most expensive looking due to the use of chrome, cat-eye design and LED-like tail lights. Megane CC looks good at all angles except the bumper is a little overhung. but I feel the rear lamp clusters design looks the best among the 3.

For me, Megane CC beats them all with the unique glass roof. Trust me, it will feel a lot more special, airy than the rest bcos of this. Your guest will feel the same as well. Unless you can afford the Golf EOS which also offer not only the glass roof but a retractable sun-roof, this is the next best option.

Interior preference is also subjective, but i'd prefer the Twintop' interior.

Opel Twin Top is likely the best handler but Megane CC is likely the most comfortable.

Golf EOS the best performer.

I agree.

Test drove the 307CC and felt that the power is somewhat lacking just a little. I didnt drive the Megane CC nor the Opel but i must say that the styling of the 307cc is what you expect from French cars. Just a touch of this here and there, but nothing to much to make it look over the top.

At certain angles, the 307cc looks weird with a funny ass, but this is quite a flashy car also.

but my personal bias would be towards the lion pride.

heehee.
