You see, normally OPC came back on sundays night and parked their cars on L2,3,4, and ground level are ccupied by normal plate as some will have family rest day after sunday breakfast at the wet market, so they get to park ground level as it is 'not necessary' for them to make use of their car. Somehow during the week, these OPC car (I mean some, not all) will automatically fly down to ground floor without goint out, occupying quite a number of lots for the rest of the week.

Please refer to my posting on the flaws on this logic in reply to Slowmo's posting.

Why would anyone make the effort to walk up to level 2,3,or 4 just to move the car down to the lower level so that the NEXT time, he/she doesn't have to walk up to the car!?... He/She would have already walked up to level 2,3 or 4 just to do that!

Another twisted logic of a OPC 'offender' detestor [thumbsdown]

Bros and Sis,

Whatever it is, shall we not be personal towards one another but rather address the issue itself? What's the point of winning over an arguement? Will we see a reduction of OPC offender? What's the point of reporting any OPC offender to LTA? Will we also see a reduction of OPC offender? Does the thread starter do it with the intention to want to help those offenders or helping out the cops or reducing the number of offenders? If not, then let the cops do their jobs. They are there for a purpose - whether they are doing their job or not is not our concerns.

Anyway, OPC owner goes out from and to anywhere after restricted hours without coupon is against the rule. If anybody wants to challenge that, be sure to get fined. Simple as that.

What you sow is what you reap.

However, if there are ways in which we can improve the system, let's be open to suggest. And probably someone might take notice of those suggestions one day and put them in place in time to come?

That's what forum is all about, isn't it? Free to discuss ideas and encourage a closer netizen's spirit.

By the way, i am driving an OPC.

Agree in totality. The problem I see is that some members here just basically see OPCs AS an offence, if you know what I mean

Hi Bro, before you start twisting facts and calling others OPC offender detester all over.

fact #1 - I was an OPC for a good number of years. (so its really ironic to say I'm a OPC hater.) This car is used only for sat/sun.

fact #2 - I was an non-OPC for the same good number of years. (its also ironic to say I am a non-OPC hater.) This is for mon-fri.

fact #3 - OPC or non-OPC alike, paying for something does give you the RIGHT to choose, but it doesn't mean that you are civil minded. eg. we all pay for the same bus/train fare, you can have the right to choose seats or not to give up seats to anyone because you PAID for it. But that doesn't mean you are civic minded. period.

fact #4 - I know I give a damn about leaving lots to people who needs it more. Do you?

Strifes happens when people try to classify themselves as 'my camp' and 'your camp'. That already is the start of discrimination - segregation of own groups with others. What makes it worse is dissenting opinions.

I do wonder though, is this the state of apathy that is shared by many fellow Singaporeans.

Hope that clarifies anything at all.

To moderator: I declare this will be my last post to declare I am not discriminating any other driver, be it OPC, rio, vios, etc., I am not here to add the flame, it is due to their attitude that make others detest and their inferiority complex (I have to say this word 'inferior' because it is the fact). I do look down on one type of materialistic people who steal or cheat and expect others to side with them and continue fighting on wrong ground publicly, but I will not look down on genuinely poor (or not?) but humble people who is responsible.

This post reveals that you 'clasify' car owners and that you see OPC as a 2nd class road user as compared to normal plate car owners.

That's the discrimination that I, as a OPC owner (I cannot speak for all), am speaking up against.

I have never view OPC as 2nd class road user, or any others, it is only your own illusion, so don't put words in my mouth, your view is your view, not mine. It is the silly mentality and irresponsible behaviour of these people that makes others look down on them. It is not the ride.

When you try to convince people and you can't, you try to confuse people. When you can't seem to confuse people, you try to con.

Good try. And I think you are doing that to yourself. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

Is this really what happened, proven, u actually did a check? Or an assumption that they never go out of the MSCP? Care to share how u come to this conclusion?

next time all OPc will be prohabited to park on ground level, ie. if OPC still doesn't cooperate, being selfish and flout the rules.

This is your suggestion? To ban OPC from lower floor? My suggestion of ERP increase was ridiculous by intention, I wanted it to be ridiculous. What about this suggestion of yours?

U saw them shift? Is it during restricted hours? Then u could have reported that they move their car during restricted hours, then they won't dare shift in future.

dear all,

i believe all of us agree that there is nothing wrong with any person owning an OPC. What we are looking at is OPC owner flouting rules of restricted hours set by LTA and how we can suggest to improve the system constructively.

But... This issue has developed to the point

from OPC offender on the road

to parking fines

to reduce OPC insurance premium

to reduce OPC parking charges

to OPC driving at MSCP

and lastly to OPC owner trying to occupy lower level MSCP parking lots become another issue... It's endless.

Sad to say that we have deviate from discussion to discrimination to dissension and then division. Don't wish to engage in any arguement because i know that whether i win or lose, it is just a matter of personal feeling. If i win, i feel good but i lose potential friends. If i lose, i feel lousy and want to win thus lose more potential friends.

To look at things objectively, nothing has changed on the subject discussed but relationship with one another has... and that's the fact. I mean...look at the way things are going now.

Hi Bro, before you start twisting facts and calling others OPC offender detester all over.

My reply was to Memory, who stated that he was a OPC offender detestor. I did not twist facts. I refer you to post:1924057 on page 21 of this thread. Please check your Facts.

fact #1 - I was an OPC for a good number of years. (so its really ironic to say I'm a OPC hater.) This car is used only for sat/sun.

Agree totally. No contest

fact #4 - I know I give a damn about leaving lots to people who needs it more. Do you?

How will anyone know who needs what lots more? [hur]

Strifes happens when people try to classify themselves as 'my camp' and 'your camp'. That already is the start of discrimination - segregation of own groups with others. What makes it worse is dissenting opinions.

Total agreement. So wouldn't you agree that some members here who look at people who own OPCs or cheaper cars as a different group of road users IS discrimination?

I do wonder though, is this the state of apathy that is shared by many fellow Singaporeans.

Hope that clarifies anything at all.

I refer to your post (192140). Memory wrote:

Sounds pretty discriminatory to me. Or maybe it's my eyes or screen... it's only an illusion. You are quite the magician hor?

You are right! You have successfully confused me. Well done [thumbsup] I dare say that that I have rebutted your points with reasons (at least, what I perceive as reasons). I don't see you correcting my 'mistakes' [sly] Except by raising a different line of argument again

Good try. And I think you are doing that to yourself. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

I concur your view. [nod][nod][nod]

I declare I did not state that I am normal plate or OPC. It is others who claimed I drive a normal plate or OPC.

However, refering to the most recent post, it seems that some actually intentionally or unintentionally filter out the fact and try to hide the truth, and try to convince (failed), confuse (failed) and con people (failed). Imagine a new OPC read this and thought she could drive OPC without valid coupon and get away with it? Yes, 20 times, 30 times, but in the end when caught, everything is back to square one. I am actually doing a good deed by letting OPC know that this is not allowed which they in turn save a lot of monee in the end. It's all about exchanging different POV, but if one wants to deviate, I have to try to correct it right?

Correct. You only stated that you were a OPC offender detestor. However, some of your arguments seem to suggest that having OPC IS an offence.

That's a bit confusing. If it's about exchanging DIFFERENT points of view. What makes yours correct and the other person's - wrong? Trying to make sense is that you have a superiority complex. Wouldn't you agree?

You are angry with me, not with the things I said. [shakehead]

Yes, maybe I have 'superiority' complex, that's why to some I don't sound nice. But that's my pov, but I did not deviate on b&w ground.

I detest OPC offender. period. But when did I say or imply anything like 'having OPC IS an offence'? If you want to argue your point, do it rationally. Lawyer don't twist their words the way you do!?
