You will need a converter to convert the power and of course an LCD screen.

There's alot of cars that have playstations or xbox in their cars.

The converter is not cheap however...a good one will cost a few hundred dollars..

A cheap lousy one can get for $100 but how good i dunno la...

Get a DC to AC convertor aka 'inverter'

Last time I feel like puting a PC in the boot and a LCD monitor for long trips in MY.

I don't think the following is much advisable ...Especially now with so many threads on cars break-in for accessories ...Setting up the following ...would just higher up your percentage and "add to the numbers" ... [:(]

Anyway ...i think the show "pimp my ride" had did one playstation on a car before ...Imagine they can even hook a 29 inch LCD to the boot ...what is not possible [laugh]

Technically it is possible to power the Playstation via the 12V adapter without the need to go through a DC -> AC converter.

If the unit comes with those hugh power adapter similiar to our router's, then it could be done easily. Read off the output voltage / current on the adapter and purchase those cigarette adapters with adjustable voltages (usually in incrementals of 1.5v). Adjust the voltage accordingly, plug it into the P/S and you're ready to go.

If it's those 2-pin plugs similiar to our TV's, then some mods need to be done on the PCB to get the above step to work. (Bypassing the transformer and supply the direct voltage in)

Note : I've junked my P/S 1 many years ago, can't remember exactly how the power source looks like. However, I've done the opposite for my B&D car vacuum cleaner by powering it using the normal 3-pin plug via a transformer.

Yeh true, but will hide it as neat n stealth as possible if were to do, wonder if it would consume more battery power n shorter the life of our car battery...

Yes you would need to install an inverter try to get at least a 300watt one so that you could also use it for other equiptment ie computer.... Maybe you could also try some online stores they also do have 3rd party power adaptors that could use the 12V cigrette lighter plug to run the game machine... I am using one for my PS2 slim....

these kinda things are fun to have but totally unnecessary imho. the only usage i see is in the causeway jam. other than that, shd be sleeping or enjoying scnery.

i say this cos reading/watching tv in a moving vehicles isn't too good for the eyes
