Bearbear1494 Clutched September 18, 2007 Share September 18, 2007 If you want to save abit of arm strength during the application/removal of normal wax/sealant, the plug-in types will help. I bought one from Mustafa around half a year ago, with a 6 inch wheel. Works well enough, but like what MD said, no way can remove defects. Think of it as an automated wax applicator/remover, nothing more.
Gorilla41 Neutral Newbie September 18, 2007 Share September 18, 2007 Hi guys I borrowed a 12V waxer/polish from a friend . Not enough power but what if i buy a step-up transformer. Is there any buffer that is in the 240V/300 watt range which i can buy.

Bearbear1494 Clutched September 18, 2007 Share September 18, 2007 Yup, swirls & the like. But can work for very light scratches with a scratch remover like Formula 1 Scratch Out.
Gorilla41 Neutral Newbie September 18, 2007 Share September 18, 2007 light scratches and swirl marks and light water mark. something i can use to remove 2000 to 2500 grit sanding scratches. basically something i can use with the Menzerna Final Polish and cutting pad. Bearbear1494 Clutched September 20, 2007 Share September 20, 2007 Sorry bro. Almost every DA polisher sold does not come with any attachment for use with pads. They only come available with bonnets like foam bonnet, terrycloth bonnet, wool bonnet etc. So if you wish to use those cutting/polishing pads like Lake Country etc, your only choice is a rotary aka PC (Porter Cable). These pads normally come with velcro backing to attach them to the rotary. You can try modifying a DA to be able to use those pads, but the results won't even come close to what one can achieve with a PC. But of course, extra care & plenty of practise is required for PC, otherwise it's very easy to damage your paintwork. A DA is practically foolproof, you'd have to be a complete imbecile to mess it up.
Gorilla41 Neutral Newbie September 25, 2007 Share September 25, 2007 Hi guys, My cousin intro me the brand Lake Country Mfg. And loan me his DA. Too bad he only got 1 white pad. I'm thinking of oredering the yellow and orange ones. But i can't place the order, and it seems they are offering the Smart Pads Foam Pads By Lake Country Mfg. Is it the same as the previous version or better.
Flyby Neutral Newbie September 25, 2007 Share September 25, 2007 i was thinking of getting those cig lighter 12v buff machines. i see you guys talk about different coloured pads, but not sure how the colour of the pads matters was thinking just one pad to wax on, one wax off, perhaps another set for sealant? Gorilla41 Neutral Newbie September 25, 2007 Share September 25, 2007 The 12 V buffer usually offer 2 pad, 1 is the foam pad for applying wax. The other is for polishing the wax to a shine. As for the sealent i would apply by hand which i think is faster. Please correct me if i'm wrong. ↡ Advertisement
