Picanto 3rd Gear June 18, 2007 Share June 18, 2007 is the system 6 capable of removing current water spots? and is it able to prevent water spots in future? ↡ Advertisement
Chickenfarm Turbocharged June 18, 2007 Share June 18, 2007 (edited) Ermm...I dun recall anywhere in the system 6 advert tt says it could prevent water spots be it currently or future? If the answer is positive, then you are perfectly free to 'blacklist' it (this is a free world). However...I do recall in my para 1 above tt I didn't claim in anyway tt sys 6 will provide miracle on your car...on the contrary, I did gave a fair & balanced account tt it didn't gave tt 'wet look' gloss and what have you...(if this wasn't enuff, I believe Bro Bluemice did the same by qualifying the standard of sys 6 in his reply to you). I hope you're not expecting a total thrashing of the product from everyone just because you are a staunch believer of DIY perhaps??? Like I said above, I fully respect DIY and I'm perfectly fine if DIY could prevent the above but let's be objective and look at the matter from paint protection point of view instead of what miraculous expectation we may have on PPS. I'm just saying if you have the budget, you may do it for the sake of 'feeling good' tt your paint is being protected (one will have to provide scientific prove to really establish if it does or it doesn't and not based on subjective observations). Likewise, if you're into DIY and have the time to do it, I have no complaints on what you do and will not run it down just because I went for PPS (and I hope this feeling is mutual). At the end of the day, it is for each to decide his own preference. Edited June 18, 2007 by Chickenfarm
Chickenfarm Turbocharged June 18, 2007 Share June 18, 2007 All Detailers use sealant to protect the paintworks and this doesn't mean that it is 'forever' sealed. The keyword is maintenance - you could either DIY or send your ride back at intervals to the Detailer. Cheers! and this: 'So it all boils down to one own's expectation - NO ONE SIZE FITS ALL type of car paint protection. If you think that product or service is the best for you then....until then, it is the best! Cheers!' Well said Bro The01 I couldn't agree with you more

Bluemice 2nd Gear June 18, 2007 Share June 18, 2007 (edited) yeah, i agree too, car ownerish is a personal thing, ie as long the owner happy can liao... at one stage in time, my car has a super-duper coat called "Dust-kote" its achieved by not washing your car for 2mths straight, but not wat i want , simply no choice. back to any PPS as long owner happy can liao ... to other guys, see my PT #1, very impt news. if ask me wat to go if pay $$, used to consider Glare, but done at a specific outlet only( dun ask me which one, thats 2 yr + ago when i last did my research) mice Edited June 18, 2007 by Bluemice
Fkadir Neutral Newbie June 18, 2007 Share June 18, 2007 Glare you mean? www.glare.com.sg Did it for my ex-ride which was red. Very satisfied with it. Just need to wash and it comes up gleaming.. at least for the first 12 months or so.. If you have enuff Mobil-Esso Smiles points, its very worth-it. Ashocker Neutral Newbie June 18, 2007 Share June 18, 2007 HI Ashocker, thanks and appreciate ur advice. so u mean to use those mobile detailers better and on regular basis or go for PP like CS-II for 1 time treatment? Kind of confused liao... Hi Ario, unfortunately there is no such thing as a treatment lasting forever. Dispite what some claim to offer warranty, they will still need you to send it back for touch-up. It also requires discipline; once you choose 1, stick with it and send your car back to them regularly for re-coating. Personal believe: all the PPS has the same role, which is to add an additional protection over your car. For the price of System6, why not give it a try? :) Btw, check your credit cards / car membership if there is any discounts available - eg Nissan Advantage members get 30% discount for 1st time System6 treatment. Also to note, their price excludes GST, so if you want to "beat" the 2%, book a session with them ASAP :)
Chickenfarm Turbocharged June 19, 2007 Share June 19, 2007 (edited) Hahaha...where did u get your 'dust kote' done??? I'm also a lazy person and I rather spend quality time with my family then to 'labour' for my car no matter what miraculous shine it may bring about. Have to state specifically again (lest I be flamed) that this is my personal opinion only and need not necessarily correspond with others' so for DIY suppoters, no offence is intended For Bro Picanto, as the qn. asked by the thread starter was on sys 6, you're absolutely free to add your list of cons, more cons and nothing but cons for this product if you may, instead of directing sarcasm under the cloak of mere queries at others. If u wanna promote DIY, you shld seriously make an attempt to start your own thread if that hadn't crossed ur mind Coming back...I'm due for my sys 6 in a month time but I think I'll go back to them much later cos my ride is still glossy.
