Burner shaft very light steel head and its very heavy.

 

Because the shaft is light they are able to increase the shaft by an quarter of an inch. Although in theory it gives you and extra ten yards, you got to be a fast swinger or else you will curse and swear after you made contact with the ball. And what all the pros agree on is the longer the shaft, the lower your consistency is.

 

So do you prefer those ten yards (provided your swing is perfect) or do you want precision and consistency.

 

And the burner is draw biased. The TP-burner is neutral but it is heavier and there are other minor differences.

 

IMHO the best driver taylormade produced recently was the taylormade460 and everyone working there agrees with it. Too bad they stop production for it a few months ago to make way for the superquad.

 

oh yeah if you are particular on the sound the driver produces, dont get it.

On the driver, realised that the most important is the driver shaft. I have spend thousands on new Drivers over the years in the search for the extra 10-15 metres, never reaching nirvana. Recently bought a used Taylormade R5 with a Fujikura Tour Vista 75g shaft with stiff tip kick point, and my ball now is going long with the ideal draw. Very curious with the improvement I went for a swing analysis and discovered my swing speed is 130 and this shaft is perfect for me. I would advise all bros to go for a swing analysis and buy a customised shaft. You can attach it to any decent used driver head. Forget all the advertising hype on looks and sound. A long hit off the sweet spot down the fairway will scare the sxxt out of anyone with their new super drivers bought off the rack.

 

It cut 6-7 strokes off my game and helping me pays for drinks afterwards from the various friendly wagers.

I'm all for golfing!! used to play every weekend with my kakis at SeletarBase until it closed down 2 weeks ago...now homeless. Been playing for coming 3 years

 

Driver : too many to remember but currently using Titlest D2

Fairway woods : Macgregor 3 wood, Nike T60 5 wood

Irons: Macgregor 1025M or M675

Wedges : Taylormade TP 54 and 58 deg

Ball : Bridgestone E6 or B330S

Me golfer too...using full range of Cleveland irons (from No.2 to SW). Am using Titleist 980 (steel shaft regular) and 925 drivers (Grafalloy shaft stiff). But have since laid off for about a year...a get together at Bishan Golf driving range is nice. My handicap is astronomy figures...

where n how much to do a proper swing analysis including driver shaft fitting? Your ecommendations please?

Golf House at Marina Square has one of the most complete golf swing analysis system for both irons and driver. If you buy a mizuno set of irons, they will custom fit the irons for you including selecting the right shaft according to swing speed, right swing weight for the iron heads, correct lie angle. If you do not buy the mizunos, they will charge a nominal fee. Ask for Jeff, the pro fitter. If you change a few shafts, he could probably not charge. Jeff is quite full, so remember to call to make appointment.

 

Alternatively, American Golf Technology is another place or PanWest at Jalan Peminpin. Swing analysis should not cost more than $100, but try to negotiate for free with purchase.

I think my handicap is 24 as usually my score is 90++.

You've got a nice set of clubs.If you consistantly played rounds of 90+,your handicap will be definitely less than 24.

It's been a long time since I touch my golf clubs. Usually only go to range at EGC because they open until very late. Can only go to range after the kids go to bed. Always wish there is a 24hr golf driving range.
