  1. Not restricted to men, but ladies too as we can share palces we can rally, or call upon one another within MCF if need players, etc. I start with a profile of myself: - Keen player and play club and senior level now, old man...haha - Play NSEW, and can get courts at Sentosa, central, indoors as well. - 3-4x wk, schedule permitting See you arnd, and yes, catch up for games of some sort.
  2. I realise tat alot of bros are into MY petrol n grocery, thus thinking of consolidation all info into one thread. Let me get the lobangs starting... As we all know ron97 now at RM2.50, alt way is to pump ron95 @ RM1.90. I know people will say rm2.50 still cheap, but bros out there who have been pumping MY petrol sld have feel the pain right? The caltex pump (opp esso n shell) near pelangi plaza, if u build rapport with the cashier, smile smile, offer him cigs... after a few weeks, pumping ron95 is not an issue! I normally go in wkday ard 11pm with a group of frens... Anther thing is to use maybank C.C (singapore issued), can get additional 5% cashback on petrol pumped in MY. Anyone with lobangs to chip in?
  3. ...esp. Hermitage, Mustank, Nephilim. I'm sure Wrathchild, etc. will also be interested. So...anyone going? MCF Metal Militia Meetup?
  4. Heard from my Malaysian friend that last couple of week weather was rather bad on NSH...very heavy rain. As School holiday is around the corner, those driving in to malaysia for short trip during holiday drive with care please!!
  5. Ok, I wld like to share a new dimsum that has sprung up at Blk 108, #01-74 AMK Ave 4. Hong Kong Zhai (House of Dim Sum) Though it is located at a cofffeeshop, I found the standard comparable to those found in restaurant but of course the variety not that much. I tried the following this morning (2 adults 2 kids) total is $28. 1) The century egg porridge is not that thick, more watery but a little bland though not lacking in ingredients. They, however, compensated with other dishes. 2) Peanut porridge, can't comment as this was consumed by my kids 3) *Tried their 3 flavoured crystal bao (steamed) consisting of yam, chives, mixed vegetables n found it appealing 4) *Prawn & mango roll (deep fried), juicy fat prawn with generous portion of mango 5) *Green tea/bean pastry, tantalizing & fragant due to the green tea & coupled with just a right touch of sweetness due to the red bean. The pastry is not too dry n roasted to a golden brown finger-size. 6) The cheong fun skin is very smooth 7) Deep fried carrot cake is smooth n soft on the inside 8) Har Gao, skin is not too thick & chewy 9) Siew Mai, pork used is not too oily, balanced it with 1 prawn hidden underneath the pork *House speciality The outlet closed on Monday & open air car park behind the coffeeshop. Seeing it is so reasonably priced, I will continue to try the remaining items. Disclaimer: I am not paid to share this but just like to share with those who want a change of environment & try something new.

  9. Shortly after the discovery of dimsum at Blk 108, St 11. I found out another shop that took over the famous bak kut teh shop. Now it is called Bai Jia Yuan Cai Guan (Blk 108, AMK Ave 4, #01-84) I decided to give this shop a try yesterday night. I ordered the following items:- 1) Fried french beans with dried shrimps 2) Sweet & sour pork-small 3) Foo Yong Tan-small 4) Salted Veg Soup-small 5) Diced chicken-small 6) Salted fish fried rice-medium The damage plus 3 canned drinks came up to $35.64 (4 pax) after 10% disc. This shop is run by a China couple. Not sure whether it was a gimmick or truth when they said they have run out of white rice thereby we have to opt for fried rice. Overall the dishes not too salty. Lady Boss came and asked for feedback. Truthfully speaking, for that price, cannot complain. If you just want to fill your stomach, this is do-able but if you want tasty food at slightly higher price, can go to Hao Xiang Seafood (豪乡海鲜小厨) at Blk 158, Ang Mo Kio Ave 4. This morning, I went to check out Alif Corner Restaurant 24Hrs besides the 7-11 convenience store. They are located directly opposite Blk 172, AMK Ave 4. I tried 2 kosong prata, 1 puttu mayam & 1 teh tarik kurung manis which came up to $3.00. The prata is a little overdone, not cripsy but browned yet still soft & hot once you sink your teeth into it. The mutton curry that accompanied it was spicy but a little too watery. For the puttu mayam, it is not that fresh and they run out of coconut so I had to make do with just the orange sugar. For those who had tried freshly made hot pipping puttu mayam before, this one taste more like 1 day old puttu mayam. The teh tarik is more like susu tarik with colouring and I think sugar is very cheap nowadays despite asking for kurang manis. This shop is for those who want their prata fix yet don't want to travel to Jln Kayu which is abt 20mins drive +/-. If you hv a certain expectations of how you like yr prata, then this is definitely not the place for you. As for service, haiz, be prepared to remind the blokes abt yr order otherwise they will gather at one corner & start to chatter away.
