These few days of heavy rain has made driving a little more cautious than usual, I find the windscreen seem to be smothered by the rain and it is difficult to see. Do you guys use any rainX or those promotion Nano technology that keeps the screen clear? Any recommendations?

Heard from my Malaysian friend that last couple of week weather was rather bad on NSH...very heavy rain. As School holiday is around the corner, those driving in to malaysia for short trip during holiday drive with care please!!

Seek opinion from all the "family man" out there Took leave to bring my kids out due to school holiday next Monday (Youth Day). But then thinking that it could rain heavily these days, IF it rains, where is a nice, interesting place to bring the kids that's weather-proof?? This is Plan B in case of bad weather. Thanks.

my tyres has been locking up on metal plates and drain caps. In some cases my car will skid sideways id the wheels lock up. Does this happen to everyone or should I change my tyres?

Hi bros/sis, Just wanna ask if adding fog lighting does help with visibility. Especially on rainy days. I find it quite hard to see lane markings at times during rainy days. So have been contemplating in adding fog light if it does help. Hopefully bros/sis here can give me some tips on whether it helps or not. Considering to ask my AD on the cost of adding one. Thanks -
If you seen a red car horning and signalling you to move out of the 1st lane of PIE. That's me! You guys are pathetic going 60 or even 70km/h and using the 1st lane! If you can't go fast, please keep left. No EXCUSES even though is raining! Green colour COE corolla SBR9**** with the P plate! You cannot cut into the 1st lane without picking speed 1st, you dick! Thank god i brake in time. I felt like cutting infront of you and then jam my brakes to see how u like it. Thank you for giving way... except for SBR9**** hope you crash. Cheers!

According to National Environment Agency's (NEA), the north-east monsoon is expected to set in around mid-November. Periods of moderate to heavy rain are expected to last till January. During this time, high tides ranging from 3.0 to 3.2 metres could lead to localised flash floods in low-lying areas such as Lorong Buangkok, Jalan Seaview, Meyer Road, Lorong 101 to Lorong 106 Changi and Everitt North Road. Motorists travelling along roads in these areas are advised to exercise caution if there are flash floods. The national water agency, PUB, had sent advisories to residents and shopowners in these areas to warn them of the possibility of flash floods and to take necessary precautions to protect their belongings. NEA will also be issuing warnings when heavy rain or prolonged monsoon rain is expected. Latest weather news reports, including heavy rain warnings, can be obtained by tuning in to radio broadcasts, calling NEA's weather forecast hotline at 6542 7788, visiting the NEA website at www.nea.gov.sg or accessing the mobile weather service (Weather@SG - weather.nea.gov.sg). Was on the way home with daddy and saw this Blue E class mount the central divider of Serangoon Gardens at the Prata Shop there. He could have either missed the turn into the prata and thought the turn into the Bus lane was the correct one. Whole poor E class whacked the kerb and buanged the railings. Front bumper tio, undercarriage sure kena one. Whole car on grass verge Singapore Gaberment sure claim him jialat jialat, the green railings all fell. Knocked down one road sign So sorry No Picture as raining heavily and hp wasn't with me. Very young driver with P plate. Sigh. Daddy sure scold him for sure. On the other hand, Poor E class! =( Anyone saw it?

Just got back from driving amidst the heavy downpour and saw one accident... Part ranting and part sharing my views. The number 1 reason for having more accidents on the road during rainy days is... 1) Having crappy tires... It never ceased to amaze me why people are still underestimating the need to have good tires... the only contact points you have between your $30k to $100k car and the road, yet a lot of people look for "cheap and good" tires or quiet tires, thinking that they don't speed or race hence comfort is more important or price is more important. Only some ask for good dry and wet grip as first priority. Having a performance or UP tires does not mean you are a racer or likes to speed... it just means you have a good head and knows what is important. Travelling at 40kph with crap tires is still asking for it. In my book, there is no such thing as "cheap and good" tires... It may be cheap and good up to 1000km, 5000km, etc., but never the life of driving it. Another aspect of tires is trying to see how long they can last? Seriously folks... you should change every 20,000km or so. The idea is not to stretch you dollars, but to stretch your lives. How many times do people say they want to modify their cars to go faster vs. to stop better or have better grip? The number 2 reason is... 2) The Keep Left Unless Overtaking sign is not in neon... but then again, most people do not understand English anyway. The scenario... car driving at 90 on Lane 1... sudden downpour... because it is raining and driver learn from his/her driving theory/crap instructors/crap driver friends to drive carefully when the road is wet, he/she continues on Lane 1 but dropped to 60 or 70kph... since he/she is within speed limit he/she continues on Lane 1 (another other excuse is that Lane 2 also crowded)... car behind with the crappy tires didn't realise till too late (oblivious? tires too quiet?)... accident... If you want to drop to 60 or 70kph when it rains, signal and join the queue in Lane 2! The 3 most common reason is... 3) Cab drivers with crappy tires and dropping to 60 on Lane 1.

Situation must be real bad for him to start saying this. With this kind of comments, I think it's already a sure that that piggy bank will be used for the first time. Just hope that it will be applied to the places that need it most and not artificially support some specific industries. I personally wish for a personal income tax rebate (don;t think they will cut taxes), road tax rebate, ERP cut, property tax rebate, maid levy waiver, increase in personal expenses.

Hi all lovelies, Swam across to JIU HU(JB) on sunday noon time about 230pm 23NOV 2008, traffic was smooth, no jams. hur hur. Headed to Kinashi at PELANGI PLAZA, for lunchie! YAY! Finally i get to eat my JAP FOOD in JB after so much of anticipation and the stirring of kakis invitation. Food was fantastic, along with a 6.5/10 presentation. And for some reasons, comparing it with JAP restaurants in SG, ours are obviously lacking behind in that area, or probably because i've yet to have any chance to visit one with proper presentation. ( how sad ) I shalt let the photos that i've taken speak for itself, though not very well taken( am not a techie person, so dont have a good camera) hehs. Perfect for a dinner date, very efficient service, and good ambience =) enjoyed myself totally. Food: 7/10 (tobiko sushi so fresh that the seaweed go *crisp crisp* lovely) THE SALMON IS SO SO SO FRESH, PRACTICALLY, i can finish the whole salmon, but no guts, no eyes, no smelly innards. haha. PLUS, its just like CHICKEN CHUNKS THICKNESS, you can bite into them~ and its springy. For the alcoholic, dont bother with their sake, not very good ones they serve, better to eat and then go drink somewhere else~ haha. after that, raining, dint wash car, pump petrol liao came back to SG via SECOND LINK, which i went up by mistake~ lol. Oh! Oh! PUMP PRICE DROPPED TO 245SEN~ for SHELL V-POWWWEER! i even chipped my beautiful toenail for that and i guess, coming back to sg via SECOND LINK wasnt a bad idea, no jams, only smooth like waxed skin, the causeway link was so jammed pack til its tailed way past the 2 lanes of road before the left filter lane towards causeway~ Love, Rochelle.

Avoid lane 1. 3. 30/10/08 04:08 Accident on AYE towards Tuas 4. 30/10/08 08:40 Accident on CTE towards AYE near Whampoa Flyover with congestion till AMK South Flyover. 5. 30/10/08 09:24 Accident on AYE towards ECP after Clementi Rd Entrance. Got this from SgForums. The weather is simply tak boleh tahan. Rain stop rain stop. Hai. Pls dont tailgate and speed or engage in reckless driving in this weather, Its more braking distance needed to slow.Unless your car is equipped with good brakes, dont even try. Looks like the weather is perfect for those who jam break purposely to earn a living 1) Switch on headlights in bad weather 2) Don't switch on hazard lights when you're driving in the pouring rain 3) Don't speed 4) Signal your intentions early

First off...need to clarify that this is indeed my own fault...but it does help me to realised this mystery...the car park attendants do work even when it rains! Was at Indoor Stadium last Tue for the Disney on ice show...as you all recall...it was raining the whole day...I displayed 1hr coupon and was surprised to see i was serve my "paper" when I came back...totally wet piece of summon... Always thought that when it rains...we can have a breather...but now I was proven otherwise...either that or they are now super "ON" since privatised!

...Squirt some car shampoo while its raining ! Not kidding as thats what I did just now. Was gettin a little irritable as I didnt get to wash my ride coz yesterday started to raining continously again. After today's morning rain subsided, I march happily pail in hand for my weekly exercise to my ride. Suddenly within moments, the sky starts pouring again . Feeling rather frustated I squirted some car shampoo on my roof/bonnet/windscreen and watch the suds forming... anyone tried it before?

Scene: Lornie Rd towards Adam Road (03 lanes) Weather: Heavy Downpour Time: abt. Noon Was travelling 55-60km/h on 2nd lane behind a convoy of vans & lorries (later found out the 'leader' was a bike upfront). Decides to filter out & overtake as 1st lane is clear of vehicles. From mirrors, noticed a dark color alfa approaching from far. I filtered right into 1st lane & accelerates. Alfa approaches 'fast & furious' & in seconds, was tailgating me. I checked my speed (am travelling @ 75km/h already). I accelerate more to reach 80km/h but the alfa still does not give up (bugger on his high beam & tailgates me even closer - telling me to f**** off). There was no way for me to filter out due to the convoy of vans & lorries to my left. I only managed to filter back in after abt. 15 secs. The alfa immediately sped off (hitting 100km/h, I supposed) I was mad... veli mad!!!! On such a lousy weather, travelling @80km/h is already my limit (or rather, above normal road limit). What if I decide to jam hard on my brake suddenly??? I don't think the bugger behind can response in time.... Therefore, my advice to the alfa stylo who tailgates me today: BU YAO XIA WO... WHEN I'M AFRAID, I WILL PANIC & CAN'T REFRAIN MY LEG FROM JAMMING HARD ON THE BRAKE SUDDENLY, DON'T FORCE ME..IT'S DANGEROUS.......FOR U, I MEAN... Does any of u guys practice what the alfa stylo did
