I saw the daihatsu terios, which is very similar to the rush coz in japan they come from the same production line, i think. It is very bulky and heavy, engine only 1.6 litre so FC will be quite jialat. I think people have mentioned that its gonna be in the region of 10km/l or thereabouts. For a 1.6 engine that's not good at all. As for whether can buy from PI, there are many threads on PI in this forum so just do a search. Pros of the rush is that it looks rugged and like an off-roader, u also sit a bit higher than most other people so can see further ahead if caught in traffic.

tech spec can be found on internet...price is on newspaper and internet...Rush is make by Daihatsu but putting a toyota brand...so personally i will go for the daihatsu terios since both are the same thing...I test driven the terios before...if you look for a fast car then forget it...if you looking for a nice comfortable point a to point b car which give you some fun at times...it is a car that won't go too wrong.. I think its a nice car, high sitting position and looks good. But I think it will have below average FC as compared to sedan or hatch-back of similiar capacity....

So the negative comments you heard is about PI or the car itself? confused.gif

Ok ... let me try to be as objective as I can .. [laugh][laugh]

The cons I hear about this car are ..

- High CG, must slow down when turning

- Fuel consumption quite high

- Under powered

But if you really like .. then what the heck ... just buy it and enjoy it.

Just some correction ....

If Car paper value + body value > Market value selling by dealer ...

Export.

If Car paper value + body value < Market value selling by dealer ...

Local sell.

You may wish to go to this forum for more specific comments from the owners:

Since the car has been on the road for almost a year now, I suppose the owners will be able to give you all the ups and downs of the make by now [:)]

For a start, this car is manufactured by Daihatsu (susidairy of Toyota) and sold in Japan as Bego. Toyota merely places its badge onto the grill and sold it as a Rush. For local market, Sin Tien Sing (Agent for Daihatsu) is selling the Euro model known as the Terios with a few interior and ext. diff. (no front kerb mirror, front antenna, handbrake and gearshift in the centre). For Terios, it comes with 4x4 and 2WD versions but the Rush (Fr. PI) only comes in 2WD but 4WD can be indented if you willing to fork out over $70K. The Rush comes with foot parking brake (not handbrake) and its antenna is located at the rear centre. Its gear shift is close to the dashboard and it comes with a front kerb mirror. It has a premium version known as the G model that comes with driver arm rest, keyless entry, leather gearshift and steering plus auto plasma cluster, weather control air con and nicer LED display panel and knobs. The G model cost abt. 4 to 5 K more then the basic X model.

So far, bad reviews include the air-con not cold (agent STS and PI also cannot remedy it) and pick up is slow. If you go to the RTC forum, u'll know that they did CAI to imrpove the pick up and aircon bypass to rectify the aircon thingie. Do visit the RTC forum for more specific info.
