I found a little trick to change the dancer's direction -- just invert your head. The dancer will continue in the new direction even after you turn your head back. And, it's quite difficult to get her to change direction after that!

 

I don't know how this has to do with left or right brain. But it looks like once the brain latches on a certain direction, it's hard to make it change its mind. Try it!

my friend shared this at a group gathering and it definitely was a talking point for the evening! some of us saw left some saw right some saw both ways!

 

and the best one was trying to flip the image upside down to see whether it would change!

I experimented a bit more. When the dancer's outstretched leg is on its leftmost and I turned my head sideways to the left, I can make the dancer turn anti-clockwise. When the dancer's leg is on its rightmost and I turned my head sideways to the right, I can make the dancer turn clockwise. In other words, I can make the dancer face me all the time. (It can't, but it looks that way.)

 

It looks like these two points are critical in making the brain think which way the dancer is turning.

no matter how i tried looking at it, all going right. left leg is straight and the only motion for the left leg is up and down, whilst right leg is out stretched and turning. logically, it's turning right.

dun look at it first, look at it after u invert ur head

At first I see the girl turn left but after reading some ppl say see the girl turn right I look again still see girl turn left.

After further reading, I turn my head upside down then I see girl turn right

 

Then I ask myself how come like that. I stare at the girl again and I see girl turn left, psycho myself see girl turn right and after awhile I did see girl turn right
