Tyre Replacement - Help !

Hi,

 

Last evening was unlucky, My wife and I drove to IKEA tampines when i heard a sharp 'bang' and later discovered one tyre deflated when came back to the carpark. Look like due to crack in tyre thread. Our car is Rio' 06 with stock rims and tyres since Feb' 06.

 

Now need to get a new tyre/set of tyres. Any recommendations for better tyres?

Should I change one tyre only or the whole set? How much does it cost? Where is a good place to buy tyres? I stay in Tampines.

There are a lot of auto shops behind Tampines SAFRA. Go around to ask for the price to compare

you should change a pair. If its the rear.. change both sides of the rear together..

 

minimum a pair. but if u r worried, change all... :)

 

try to go to Stamford Tyres in Loyang.. on the way to Changi Village

I guess RIO stock tyre is 175/70/R14.

 

Budget : $400 to $800

 

Driving Style : 80% Highway.

sorry, I no comments as I have not change my tyre at Stamford b4 but my friends told me that their price are a bit too maybe you should shop around that area for the same tyre that you are interested to compare the price.

Now using the spare tyre and hope got get more info on new tyres before I visit the shop.

800 is more then enough and.. I belief you can bargain in Stamford.

I am thinking to change all since they are 2 years old and drove 20k ++.

 

Usually how long can new tyres last ?

2 yrs 20k is very low!!

 

Me 3 yrs, 90k :)

 

Usually for normal tyres, around 40-50k

For UHP Tyres around 30-40k
