Condo or Pte Apt in the west?

Hi,

 

I am trying to decide between a condo and a pte apt. The earlier would probably have more facilities but will be more densely populated while the latter would be on a smaller pc of land and has more privacy (less populated). Any other issues to consider other than the above?

 

Thus far, I would prefer the privacy of the latter more.

 

Any good developments in the west? Say clementi/west coast area?

Huh? Condo = pte apartment right? What's the difference?

apartment usually means no facilities like swimming pool, tennis courts etc.

1. Yes and No. There are small sized private condos that have nice facilities which only accommodates perhaps 20~40 household.I came acorss one that has 40 units but have 3 swimming pools and a Jacuzzi and 6 lift lobbies. Need not to say, the maintenance fee is higher. Are you prepare for this?

 

2. Based on my experience in living in private houses, all condo facilites will degrade as a matter of time, unless those prestiage and upmarket ones. Eventually, people are aiming for en-bloc.

 

3. The best is to live in your own landed freehold private house. You decide the fate and look of your own house.
