Hi Eyke [sunny]

Was just wondering if there is any difference between a 14" rim that weighs about 6.5-6.8kg and a 15" rim that weighs about 6.5-6.8kg in terms of the weight pulling down on the car...

Thanks!

wrt to grip ("weight pulling down on the car"), if weight is same then should be no difference.

Okay, I think I get it now...if the weight of a 14" and 15" rim is about the same, then there is no difference to the weight pulling down the car (grip). However, because the tyres that come with the 15" is typically bigger than the 14", weight naturally goes up (rim + tyre). Add this to the larger contact between tyre and the road (due to a wider tyre width) and in totality, fuel consumption is very likely to suffer and goes up. Am I right?

I got it because of the good brudders here in MCF [nod][thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup] . So would you recommend that I change my 14" to 15"? I saw that you advised another bro' here to stick to 14" if the car is 1.3 [confused]

If at 14" already feel under powered then don't change lah, unless the 15" rim is much lighter than the 14" ....nod.gif
