According to the SE RM can't bring in the car themselves, have to buy thru local Ford (or MY Ford) or something and has extra mark up to cover the cost. But at that price your can get an Estima Aeras with loads more space but handling and looks sucks lar... unsure.gif

IMO its seriously overpriced.

well... if the buyer is willing to commit and willing to drive it for many years, they can disregard the low paper value.

Just too bad guys will always get itchy backsdie after a while so hard to ignore the paper value shakehead.gif Saw a couple on the road still looks good.

Every salesman will think of the most innovative ways/reason to buy you over so you accept their explanation and buy their product.

Frankly, i like the S-Max, but not at this price.

MPVs... you buy them to transport 6-7 pax in comfort. if you want a sports car, buy a coupe or hot hatch. So, Ford's initial brief is flawed.

If i want to transport my family in comfort, i'd get Toyota Alphard, Honda Elysion or Chrysler Voyager.

Ford develops good chassis.

They continue to invest to develop diesel engines.

but they have stopped R&D for petrol engines... they just take them from Mazda. and gives mazda their diesel engines.

They are almost bankrupt. so, dont have the funds to do what VW or even Renault is doing.

So, unless they bring in TDCi Fords, their petrol models will not be competitive.

yeah... i'm interested to know the reviews for S Max. Cos as i mentioned above, my boss is driving one and she keeps complaining to me about this or that breaking down. So wanna know if S Max is generally not that good or she is simply suay

Age of car is close to 2 yrs old

Problems so far.

- engine shut down twice on its own when stopping at the red lights. Both time, she was not able to restart it and had to call for tow services

- last month, she was told her timing belt and the gears attaching to it are loose. Had to change them though her mileage is only around 45k. Kinda early right?

- had to change brake pads at 10k servicing. Disc was scratched becos of worn out pads... though i suspect this could be due to driver instead

tis is why ppl buy MIJ car.............. [sweatdrop]

That is a bloody shallow statement to make. Each and every make and model has its own fair share of problematic units. There are cases where MIJ cars do not live up to their FC standards or where QC is lacking. This is just part and parcel of manufacturing. Besides that, we don't know the real story behind that particular S-Max, so it is better not to make such baseless judgements.

i should think she got a lemon car? engine wise can go back to Mazda to service right? using the same previous mazda 6 2.3L engine...

now selling at a promo price of $94,999...don't think it's worth though as it's the TREND spec (basic)...when they first launched, it was the Titanium spec with everything in, including a display screen in the speedo and panoramic moonroof...and they launch it quite attractively@$118k when COE was above 20k 2 years ago...

now is a pretty basic car, but you still get dual-zone air-cond, small sunroof, local leather and 1-tone interior colour...rims are 17inch i guess...

they say it drives better than the Mondeo, which i find the ride a bit too harsh for me--every bump on the road can be felt and it's passed to passengers...unlike the comfortable Focus, which absorbs it...

but the extra weight of the S-Max over the Mondeo may sap performance though...
