Need to ask them how long they will take to repair it...need to chase after them - since there is already warranty.

 

Previously there were software bricks while updating via the updater. There are ways to unbrick it by installing with a base software and slowly upgrade to its current version.

i would say for a local set, garmin 200 is best buy. Mai tu liao

yah, been out of action playing other new toys, have not come MCF for a while.

 

my nuvi was bricked after webupdater update to v5.4 firmware, upon clicking the next button on the notebook .. the nuvi went blank and can never be turned on again.

 

since it can't be switched on at all (tried reset, long press, short press, double press everything), have to send in for warranty lor..

My fren's nuvi was away few weeks flown to taiwan to get it fixed. There they flashed to latest firmware and include basemap...i think taiwan maps

I know garmin is the best buy but have to contribute in order to get the update. Further more, this set is for my CO, if too complicated for her, she will nagged.

Yes, confirm, Holux come with SLA Map updates.

I take it that the location is already stored in your "favourites"?

 

Can be done lah.... can't remember but I think you can go to simulation mode and put you current location at that stored place. Then you can get the coordinates.

Just like to ask a question regarding the use of GARMIN GPS.

 

How do you find out the coordinates of for example one of your favourite locations when you are not at that location?

 

For example, i went to the zoo and marked the location of the lion enclosure, but when i got home, i want to know the coordinates. How to dig it out of the GARMIN?

 

I'm using NUVI200.
