Hyundai Matrix

One thing that I would like to comment on the Matrix is that I find the handbrake lever too low. Coz when I was test driving it, I found that I have to tilt my body to the left before I could reach the handbrake which was placed too low. (Or maybe the seats where too high).

In fact, when I drive other high seated cars, they usually also raise the height of the handbrake......but not for the Matrix which I think it's quite disappointing.

I nearly would have bought the Matrix. But one of the main consideration I had was the handbrake. Coz I use the handbrake everytime I stop......and knowing the awkward position will discourage me to use the handbrake. Which will result in me using the normal brake more often, which will result in faster warping of the rotors...... 8) I think I was just getting paranoid!

anyway, I have since settled for a Mazda 323 and have no regrets so far except for the a few bad encounters with the mechanics in Mazda there......anyway, I don't care much about their service as long as they still give warranty to my car for the next 3 years.

Hmm.....Well there's nothing for concern I feel.....everything about Mazda has been great except for their mechanics.

I once heard from a friend who has also bought a Mazda 323 that when he brought his car for servicing, he found his bumper scratched. And when he told the mechanics about it, they were rather pissed......and after painting back his bumper, he then found his leather seats scratched, and bonnet as well!

So he was really upset coz the car was just getting more and more scratches.....

Sometimes, I believe it's coincidence for such matters to arise. The mechanics could be careless, but I don't believe they go around to scratch customers' cars. Maybe if the customer was Kuai Lan.

But one thing is for sure. If the customer is a difficult one, they'll try to make sure your number plate has at least 1 number 4 as possible. This was told to me by the salesperson.......it's one of their dirty tricks. But luckily I had pretty good relation with the salesperson I bought my car from......and also I transferred my old number plate to the new car...

Hi Kian Beng,

Congrats on your new Mazda!!. Good that U got what you'r comfortable and happy with.

I don't really have good opinion of the standards of mechanics here, generally. Whether it is agent or otherwise.

It's always who you know and how deligent he look after your car!!

I would send my former car, an Alfa Romeo to a workshop and only one particular mechanic will look after my car. Not any other mechanics from the same workshop!! When he left, I sold mine. These cars need TLC and without someone U can trust, I might as well drive anything!!!

Anyway, it is always sad to hear that mechanics scares people off while their sales people are trying to get more sales!!!

Wonder why companies spent lots of monies on adverts and such to get new clients...........when they have the best advertisement board(word of mouth) and potential new clients at their doorstep??????

BTW...u can visit us on iclubmatrix.com.

Cheers.

Ronnie

Errrrr.......Daewoo D'arts? Funny looking car too [:p]

Or Matiz in some regions. That one, I believe, was done by the Guigaro people of Ital Design. The pre-facelift looked less funny, tho, IMO....don't see it very often, too, somehow....

But being mature people in this forum, we all admit that we do not have perfect cars. As long as we like it, its fine(yes even the TTB [:p] )
