the MPS version of the mzd 3 is the one most singaporeans wont hear off... [sly][sly]

If there is one in Singapore, it will probably leave many of the regular rexes/evos wondering what the f*** is it. [sly]

Its pity that mm never bring it in...

Year for year, the dep is lower by clicks compared to LGT, and of course the main attribute is the no. of ownership transfer, as well as the rarity.

Ah.. the white one and still within warranty?

Since MPS is a small community, can ask the mazda forum if they know the previous owner for its history.

If saving of more than $1K per year compared to LGT, then IMO it's potentially worthwhile.

Yes, the white one with 1.5 yrs of warranty left. IMO still in good shape. And yes, received plenty of useful feedback from helpful forumners.

I feel I'm at a juncture where following the heart can become a dangerous thing. I have to take the lead from my head now because of the perceived risk involved.

Similarly I read a lot of positive MPS reviews too, but apparently the smarty pants all wheel drive can also catch the driver unaware, especially when slowing down before entering a corner. Think it'll take quite a bit of practice before proper corner can be mastered.

Let's see how it goes....

did u try to ask around in www.mazdaclubsg.org? i am sure those MPS 6 owners will be more than happy to help u out, with better information too [thumbsup]

IMO MPS6 is hard to come by, but if u were to consider the LGT u can have more time to consider looking at the number of LGT in the markets. perhaps holding on to ur current ride until just before it's 5th yr bday makes more $$$ sense [gossip]

I didn't dwell into www.mazdaclubsg.og, but some bros have been very helpful, giving me oodles of useful information.

In any case, I'm officially the new owner of the MPS, effective last Saturday [;)]

Yes, I have to agree. [thumbsup] I took it to 3rd, and gave it the full treatment - it was whoosh, and the horizon suddenly shrunk dramatically and in no time I had to apply the jammers to prevent myself from hurtling into slower traffic.

I'll have to slow-release my enthusiasm by getting myself familiarised with the way the MPS handles in different situations.

Thanks. I believe I've made the right choice, though it wasn't an easy one.

I'm beginning to enjoy turbo derived fun. [thumbsup]

my 2 small cents ... me LGT

with AWD ... takes a bit of getting used to. so you shd start training slowly

but once you get used to it.... there is no turning back

previously when i had both the LGT and Volvo S60 ... i had a few near shaves simply bcos there were days when i forgot the S60 is FWD. Driving characteristics is totally 2 diff ball game.

my take ... if you are not losing more than 6k pa on the MPS ... i would encourage you to try it. You only live once!

I'm encouraged by your encouragement. In fact, I've assumed ownership since last Saturday. I'm not optimistic about keeping the MPS beyond 5 yrs, what with the surfacing of mechanical glitches and lack of spares. However, if the zoom zoom reliability is as good as they claim, we'll see....

At least I didn't stall the car the 1st time I drove it on the way home.

I was tempted to drive the MPS to Desaru the following day for a 1 day break, but notwithstanding the superior handling offered by the AWD, I decided to take the safe route by using my current FWD vehicle. I figure I don't want to be carried away by the knowledge (lack of) of AWD prowess and "explore" the limits on malaysian trunk roads.

What's your advice on driving an AWD? SIFO (slow in fast out) or FIFO? Change over from FWD to AWD can only mean safer, right, but not the other way round?
