I'm not sure on this, but I came across a magazine article mentioning that it had the same chassis as the Renault Megane. The car may not be rated by NCAP, but it feels strong enough. Won't want to find out how strong though.

Cars do not kill, every car when stationary is 90 per cent safe.

Why only 90 pct?, some chew cheng can knock into it even at standstill

Only when its controlled by somebody that the percentage reduce by

leaps and bounds

Hey, that's very encouraging to hear. My travel is about 90% highway. So I guess my FC will not suffer that much.

Anyway I have removed my Pioneer speakers and woofer from my ride and I intend to fix these both into my new Sylphy. The thing that irks me is the current double din head unit. My current one has a USB port which is very useful. This new one doesn't. Anyone wants to buy the JVC KW-XG560 model, super brand new! Have not even get it yet!

Yup, got it from Orix, I have a very good friend working there.

Anyway I am just worried if changing to a 16" rims will affect my FC further. I am currently driving a Vios too, I get fantastic FC of between 14-15km/l even on 15" Eagle F1 and open pod setup with some mods here and there.

What's a good 16" tyre to get? Any suggestions?

I believe that the price will around the same as TC. Maybe your trade in value of your old car is higher?

Yes, I think it will affect the FC as compared to 15inch.

Personal favorite is Michelin (owed my life to Michelin Certis due to fatal safety barrier crash a few years back) [sweatdrop] or Bridgestone (both quiet and wet control)

yalor.. [sweatdrop] my previous vios seldom hit more than 10-11.... [laugh]

but i always pump and stop at first "click"..., always the same petrol kiosk....not much variables wor.....

btw, only one time, trust me, once, i hit 8.8km/L...yes, on my latio and i was [jawdrop] ... the felt was different when i start off from the petrol kiosk after that pump... i suspect they screw up big time by mixing up the 95-ron with 92-ron but i have no prove....no way my latio will hit below 9km/l with 95-ron.... [hur]

WTF [jawdrop] i wonder how u drive ur Latio.. FC only 8.8KM/L.... [crazy]

u better scrap it and stick to Toyota then

Actually, the body kits and parts that Tan Chong supplied are from Nissan Taiwan. You can check it out at http://www.nissan.com.tw/option_parts/sele..._CarName=SYLPHY

I am driving a 2.0 Sylphy, by far the best car I have driven. It is quiet and the pick up is comfortable and Torquey (90% Torque at 2000rpm, benefits from CVT gearbox). I opted out the Navigation system, personally I feel the system is a bit slow and I already have a PDA with GPS. Maybe I will get a DVD HU to replace the current.

Overall, thumbs up for this comfortable car. I hope there are more bodykits out soon, if not have to go Japan to source one. The Sylphys in Japan offers, E-4WD, Sunroof, HID and steering audio controls. Why Sillypore distributors dont offer us this options?

if u need the same spec offer in Jap's, you will have to pay more... but am shock to know 2.0L Sylphy does not have steering audio controls [hur]

Sylphy looks better with 16". You won't regret it. Don't think FC will be much affected.

I am also quite disappointed when I find no audio controls on the steering wheel. Maybe should stick the remote control onto the steering wheel [laugh] I believe in future should when there are new facelifts, the audio controls will be in but will not benefit us current Sylphy owners lah.

Anyone knows where to get the aftermarket kits for the Sylphy? I saw the Taiwan website and I must say the chrome grille gives the car a very VIP, continental look! Where to get?

This one

Turbocharged

I am uncle what :) over 30 already......

I do really like the profile of the sylphy. I thought the honda civic was really nice looking too especially the dashboard but KM too expensive, no discounts. So got the sylphy which I think looks different but still nice.

quite a nice comparison page on the sylphy vs civic.
