Best Driving Roads in Msia?

Anyone with any opinion on which stretch of Malaysian road is best for driving and why?

Simpang pulai to Cameron - many winding roads/not many cars

East Coast to Terengganu - Nice to see

NSH - Can speed

genting would be perfect without humps on the downslope.

 

the road is so wide that there is good margin for error.

 

uphill is fun too but only if u have the hp.

 

in any case got many crazy taxis to benchmark urself against, or to siam

 

the old cameron's road to tapah also good if not for traffic, but that one almost no room for error . usually also have huge buses and trucks going up and down then really

I heard that the stretch of highway from Penang to Kelantan/Terrenganu is good. I have not been there so don't know.

 

I personally enjoy the KL/Karak highway (way to Genting) past Bentong and straight through to Fraser's Hill. The road is really winding and lots of hairpin corners. Most of the time only using 2nd and 3rd gear. But of course, one mistake and down the ravine you go! And that's a looooong way down

I tried coastal road to Kuantan before. Not bad but got a lot of cows on some roads. :)

well, it is a good practice on reflex and car responsiveness to sudden brakes...ABS working

Best road I've ever had the pleasure to fling my car around: Kluang to Jemaluang

More twist than the German "ring" and few vehicles coming from the opposite side of the road.... but definitely not a place to drive fast for "trunk road newbies". It's also pretty nearby, being part of the route from Ayer Hitam to Mersing.

 

Heard that some of the "faster-car" forums love it too

 

 

NOTE:

1. During heavy rain season, parts of it may be flooded.

2. There are certain "bridges" that can cause lowered cars to bottom out and severely damage their undercarraige/oil pan...

3. Although most corners can be taken at 140 and above, a "seasoned" spotter should go ahead and radio back when there's a oncoming vehicle so that everyone else behind can be ready.

4. Following cars should be at least 100m apart for safety.
