Acer Desktop M5620

Thinking of getting the Acer Desktop Model: M5620

 

Comes with free 24" Monitor upgrade & MS home & student edition @ S$1999.

 

Any opinions? Or are there better options at this price point?

 

Should I stay with the loaded Vista home premium or ask them if can downgrade to XP Pro?

 

Noob on PC specs & latest IT trend, opinions/ advise appreciated.

Q9300 does not offer much speed improvement compared to Q6600, try getting Q9450 instead. i tink is 2.66, 1333 FSB, 12MB L2 cache. but then hor.... Vista Home = 64bit? else for a 32bit system, it has a problem with 2G barrier. and tat's why i m switching to this other chipset using SUSE Linux to tap on 8GB DDR.

 

for a 64bit win system, still limited by 3G barrier. XP Pro is 64 bit.

Wah, very tech leh. But I did not see any Q9450 in any of Acer sets. Thought of getting Acer again cos my P3 Acer still running till today though sometimes got trouble booting up. That's why think of getting a replacement before it crashes.
