Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

As the subject states; I'm intrested in getting the above in the future.

My car is a lancer glx

Please advise where I will be able to find it without getting ripped off(cos Im angmo leh)and how much I should be paying.

for shocks I had the Tein mono flex in mind but have no idea on price or if it even fit the car.

the Altenator upgrade is actually the real problem because not a lot of people do this in singapore(so i was told)...I'm looking at a output of around 150-200 amps

thx in advance [thumbsup]

hmm... i suggest a stiff suspension. koni would be good. now im on koni and its not bad.

get a pair of struts and antiroll bar. front and back. that should stiffen up the car good.

check up the lancer club forum. there might be peeps selling second hand bars. no point getting new ones. for the shocks if u're gonna keep your ride for awhile den dun scrimp get new ones. [;)]

I suggest u get a copy of the local carmag call Hotstuff. U will find what u want, call up and ask the vendors for a quote for the item and installation. After that come back here again to ask whether the price quoted is reasonable. [:p]

Look for the serious ICE shops in US specialising in alternators. Take down your alternator model and s/n # and they will be able to locate or compare a suitable uprated alt. typically 120-220A. The housing can sometimes be chrome or other exotic colors [inlove]

Only catch is that on some newer cars they may have a different IC regulator and sometimes these alternators cannot be modded even by the speciality audio shops. Try your luck with these shops. I don't trust local shops, they are not accredited with ICE certification. They do not understand the implications to the car as a whole if the stator winding and core is not done properly [shakehead]

For batteries, my opinion is that Optima and audiobank EFX and another brands are a waste of money. If deep cycle is what you want, go for marine 12v batteries. Cheaper and more durable in my opinion [nod]
