Icebird Clutched July 27, 2008 Share July 27, 2008 I would like to renovate my condo and was wondering if it is very costly to have piped in music so that the music would seem to come from the "ceiling" without visible speakers. Any one knows any shop that does this? Is it costly? I would like to be able to hear the TV even in the toilet like hotel rooms. ↡ Advertisement
Redlavita Neutral Newbie July 27, 2008 Share July 27, 2008 you can purchase the ceiling/wall mounted speakers from SLT, and get your electrician to do up the cabling. Most hotel uses voltage line to drive the speakers instead of convention amplifiers. I believed you can purchase the amp from SLT. My ex company sells JBLs Pro speakers like the Control 1s, with ceiling or wall mounting covers, take a look at Hotel InterCon, Marina Mandarin for some ideas.. Another less costly way is to run the speakers with a multi channel amplifier. I've seen some restaurant playing BGM music on a car stereo with car speakers. hope above gives you some ideas. Icebird Clutched July 28, 2008 Author Share July 28, 2008 What's a "china mobile"? I would like to be able to listen to music too, hence not TV. Another way to do it (and probably less knocking and wiring) is to use wireless speakers... but i heard that sound quality is not good. Any one tried? Alcapone Neutral Newbie July 28, 2008 Share July 28, 2008 (edited) Wow, you need inspiration to do your business in toilet your condo so big? Otherwise can just turn on yout TV a little louder. But why TV and not from your hi-fi system? The price depends on how sophisticated you want to be. The cheapest is to connect direct from TV output to an active 2-way speaker system (Bose sells for $200 a pair, and allows you to connect from another source (your computer or CD player). But, if you want a more sophisticated system, the price can range from Bose (a cheaper option but poor hi-fi quality) to Revox (certainly better than Bose anytime) to B&O (very expensive). You have to connect your TV output to the amplifier in this case. And you can use a remote control for your selection.
