Kingcopa 1st Gear August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 I am on T1R. due to some balancing prob, one of my front tyre (passenger side) is seriously worn out. Recently i kena a screw on that tyre and i manage to remove the screw n batch up the tyre. Should i change the tyre (just 1 pcs)? Remaining 3 still look good. ↡ Advertisement

Swiftboi Neutral Newbie August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 get a tyreman to chk all four tyres again maybe the worn out is due to yr alignment, if u want save $$ yr back tyres doing fine then can rotate yr tyre 1st or juz change both front old to new tyres loh.... Singer Neutral Newbie August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 Not only it's not adviceable to have a different model of tyres on the same axle, different thread wear of the same model is also not recommended evethough they look 'good' Traction might be compromised - safety Is the damage to your tyre that bad that warrants a complete change? Try changing a set of 2 pieces then.
Singer Neutral Newbie August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 I adhere to this formula But others claim new tyres go to the rear especially it ride is RWD
Help1 1st Gear August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 use your spare tyre if it is the same size, very rare to use spare tyres nowadays so if you really want to save, the seriously worn out tyres put back as spare loh... with the spare tyre now working with the rest of 3 tyres, change all 4 when it is due
Toalson 1st Gear August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 New tyres should go to the rear if it is FWD and vice versa for RWD. But for AWD not sure. There is a write up in almost all tyres manufacturer website.
