The unavoidable

Along with death and taxes, I think swirl marks is next. My 1 month old Civic already got some swirl marks, despite the extreme care I put in. [:/]

Once I come to the realisation, I'm much happier now. I'll just "encase" my car in layers upon layers of wax, to camouflage the swirl marks.

If anybody has a way to avoid swirl marks, please share with me. But for now, I try not to let it bother me too much [flowerface]

There's no way to totally prevent and avoid swirls, unless you don't drive the car. We can only take precations not to cause excessive swirls to it..

You can use machine to rid the swirls, but also can't overdo it. Another way is like what you are currently doing, by masking them with wax.

If u like wax, find those with filling properties. I cant say which is the best in market. Im using collinite and it works fine.

Do apply a layer of glaze before waxing. You will notice the difference more on dark color paints, as glaze helps to fill up the swirls. Im using clearkoat RMG.

Unavoidable unless car is a garage queen, however proper washing techniques do greatly minimise them.

I used to be anal about it and then I realised its pointless.

Now I just bear with it, perform weekly washes, QD and sealant monthly, machine only sees action twice a year.

You are right. I am planning to give away all my car detailing stuff, right after I have tried MD's Duragloss Aquawax.

It is quite poisonous.
